Sizes to Fit Review: Maxi-mum Diva-ness

First I want to say that this has skyrocketed to #1 in two places in my closet. It is now my favorite dress from Sizes To Fit. And I think it is now my favorite maxi dress I own. I put this dress on this morning, looked in the mirror… and immediately fell in love!!!

The Dress: Border Paisley Long Dress - $29.99 (that’s the actual price!!!)

The Review: This is not as much of a review as it is a testimony to how much I love this dress. It’s loose, and comfortable and just made for a day walking around in today’s heat. The material is stretchy and flowers make it an eye catcher. If you like being the center of attention, this is the dress for you. I didn’t know this dress was going to look like this… but I love how it turned out.

I did not try this dress without a bra because let’s be real… it wasn’t going to work. It does have padding in the top so for some smaller-chested ladies, it will help you look fuller. It is super duper long, and I think it would also look amazing with stilettos, but I wanted easy comfort today.

Other outfit items:
Earrings: Beauty Supply
Shoes: Impo (Off Broadway Shoes)

I wanted to remind you all that the owner of Sizes to Fit is offering my awesome readers a coupon code that is valid until the end of September: DDT0910 for 10% off your entire order at Sizes to Fit!
So tell me, have you have purchased anything from them yet?!! If so, what did you order?

Diva Spotlight: Diva Eursula

I have a neighbor and she is a confident plus size Diva... we are constantly discussing out fashion and makeup. Well yesterday when I ran into her, I finally had my camera on deck. So I took some pictures of her. She is confident everyday... so I don't know what see wants to say about this outfit.

She doesn't have a blog... I will let her know about all your comments... so let me know what you think about this heavenly creature.

All pieces (minus earrings) are from Target

OOTD (yesterday): My love of dots... polka dots that is

I have a local consignment shop that caters to plus sizes and I haven't visited in a while and it was bothering me. So I stopped by and found some of the best blazers in the universe... I figure that should extend my summer wardrobe into fall by just throwing a blazer over it.

Yesterday was a bit rainy and not chilly but  breezy. So it was a perfect day to cover my arms. I finally was able to wear my great blazer. I have some others I can't wait to place on the blog... but this is my favorite. If you are a reader in the Maryland area... please visit..

Blog Sale...

So in case you missed it, I created a new site to sale things from my closet. Its been hard to decide to do this but it must be done. My salary was really important to my family and without it, well, we're struggling. And if you know me well, you kmow that me selling my clothes is serious. Becuase I am selling things that would fit if I lost 10lbs... but I need the money more than I can wait for weightloss. If you don't like any of the items I'm selling but would love to see me keep blogging, I have a donate button on my side panel. I feel slightly embarassed to have to admit that after years up making almost 6 figures... I can barely pay my bills currently... *sigh*

Here are the items I've put on the Blog Sale (so far):

Let the church say Amen: Back to School

Okay… today was the first day of school… sort of. My 9th grader/13 year old (Leeky Leek) started his first day of high school. He is being so calm and relaxed about it. I didn’t get any pictures of him because he had to leave the house at 6:45 and my brain wasn’t completely functioning at that hour.

My 6 year old (Yaz) started 1st grade and she was adorable. I love her “Loving School” attitude, and I hope she keeps that for many many years to come. My youngest, the 4 year old (Mari) was able to meet her teacher for Pre-K today. I found out it was the same teacher Yasmin had but that she had gotten married which is why her name didn’t ring any bells. She will only be in school for 2 hours per day but its enough to amp up my writing and job search.

Today was a long day and I am exhausted but my body has to readjust to this schedule. But I will give you pics of my angels… and my not-so-diva-esque OOTD today… I love your comments… let me know what you think…

My Outfit Breakdown:
Skirt: Target
Tank: Wal-Mart
Shoes: Victoria Secret
Earrings: Beauty Supply

Yaz’s Outfit Breakdown:
Tunic/Dress: Justice
Leggings: Justice
Shoes: Payless

Mari’s Outfit Breakdown:

Jeans: Burlington Coat Factory
Shoes: Payless

I Want It So Badly: STF Ity Sash Contrast Dress

As you can see I spend a great deal of my day looking on the internet for great style I can bring to my readers and for things I would get if I wasn't excrutiatingly broke...
Today I fell onto the Sizes to Fit website and this dress is one of those dresses that changes your whole mood. I honestly fell in love with the purple one (no surprise) but then the longer I looked at the site the black with red sash kept talking to me as well. Which would mean I would need it in two colors. Well, if you decide to purchase this... remember to use the discount code: DDT0910 (10% off your purchase)

How would you wear it? And which color would you choose?

DOTD: Pretty as a Garden

Today's dress was a dress I've had for quite some time. But everytime I tried to zip it... it would go midway and stop... so while I was cleaning out my closet... I thought to myself. I really don't want to sell this dress... I bought it because I thought it was gorgeous. So I decided to try to leave it zipped and pull it over my head...
It worked!!!
So after days and days of housework... and not putting on makeup or getting dressed outside of sweats (yes... I do own some)... today was a day for the record books... only now as I look at the pictures... I hate my shoe choice. But I love love love the ruffle detail down the middle and on the waist... and the flowers are the prettiest I've seen in a while... and who doesn't like a dress with a tulle underskirt?

Also, adding a picture of hubby and I... its not that clear but I thought it was super cute...

Outfit Breakdown:
Dress: Torrid
Bolero: Lane Bryant
Shoes: Kate Preston (Off Broadway Shoes)
Earrings: Dots

What do you think of the outfit? Have you visited my new Sale Blog (QueenDiva Fashion)? Also, how do you like the new layout?

Reasons why I'm Fat... revisted...

2 years ago... i posted this list here---->> Former Blog

It was hilarious to me then and gave me a chuckle today... before you read this... know... its a joke!!!

10 Reasons Why I'm F.A.T.

10. Because I generally dream about food. Eating it, cooking it. Last night I dreamt that I was eating a Steak sandwich on wheat toast (I guess in my subconcious I'm still on a diet) with tons of onions and the juices running down my arm. In the dream I was licking my arm not to miss the juices. I checked this morning to make sure I hadn't actually licked my arm.

9. I hide snacks from my kids that I don't want to share with them.

8. I hide snacks from my husband that I don't want to share with him.

7. I eat the above snacks while lying in bed and hiding them under the covers so no one knows I'm eating them.

6. Workout sweat leaves me with that "not-so-fresh feeling"

5. Everything tastes better with cheese.

4. When on a diet I don't count any food I eat between midnight & 6am because that is when I am supposed to be asleep.

3. I am virtually powerless in the presence of those two sadistic hippie bastards, Ben and Jerry. I mean come on... Peach Cobbler Ice Cream... that is just wrong!!

2. In every single food equation, fat equals flavor. Do the math.

1. Buying clothes off the rack is not nearly as satisfying as having to get everything "made special." Because what is the point of being a diva if my clothes aren't unique.

Hope this gave you a quick chuckle...

I Want It So Badly: City Chic Denim Vest

In my daily perusal of the Internet... I found this denim vest (at a time when I want a denim vest so badly). This vest would complete about 60 OOTD in my head... *sigh*

How will I make this magically appear in my closet?!!
