Shoeday Saturday: Like a Hole in the Head

Hola Divas…
Today I posted a video of my shoe closet(s) to Instagram, and I can honestly say that it is finally apparent to me… that I have a problem. I apparently am incapable of NOT buying shoes. I have so many that it looks like I own a shoe store. I do know that there will be a purge/funeral of a few pairs in the near future… but ultimately… I have too many shoes. I can say that I need another pair of shoes like I need a hole in the head.

With that said, it will not stop me from perusing the internet for additional shoes that catch my fancy… Below find a few that are touching my soul currently…

Bakers Shoes SPYGLASS $119.95

Recently I had to say goodbye to my only pair of black snakeskin pumps. And that was the hardest thing I had to do. But then I came across these lovelies. I wanted them so badly… unfortunately… they no longer come in my size. No reason someone else can’t buy them and make wonderful outfits together.

Anne Klein SARAFINA $44.99

Recently a coworker and I were having a discussion about the end of the navy shoe. How that no matter where or how long you look, you can’t find them. Its as though all navy blue pumps disappeared along with VHS videotapes. I know what you’re thinking, there are tons of blue shoes everywhere… and you would be correct. I can throw a dart and hit a cobalt blue pump easy… but dark navy pumps have died out somehow. Remember when you’re mom would say “Always have a brown, black, and navy pump to go with most any outfit”. I know that by today’s fashion standards, that no longer applies. But when I want to wear a navy shoe… then gosh dangit I want NAVY. This is the only one I could find that didn’t make me feel like orthopedic shoes were right around the corner…

LolaShoetique MISS MIMOSA $31.99

When I see that a shoes color is multi… I get so excited. There is something awesome about being able to wear a shoe with multiple different outfits and making it look effortless. Like the shoe above. I could wear with yellow, green, pink, orange, and blue. If I wanted the shoes to shine and own the spotlight, I could wear all black and let the shoes do all the talking. Which is why it saddens me that this shoe is not in my size… but if it were… oh the possibilities….

I know this was shorter than my normal shoe posts… but I have to take baby steps to get back on that blogging wagon. If there are any shoes you would like me to post next week, let me know.  Until  next time (Hasta la proxima) ~besitos~

DOTD: Not Feeling So Diva… Currently

Hola Divas…
Well I haven’t posted anything on my blog since my post on Dec 1st. So let me tell you what has happened over the last week….

Last Friday: I came home from work nauseous and completely sick. I thought that since my children had been sick during the week that I had not been so lucky at avoiding it. I went to bed hoping it would be a 24 hour bug as it had been with everyone else….

Saturday: It starts to look like I am seriously sick as the pain has gotten worse and I can’t eat anything without getting really sick. I only left my bed for a few moments to go to my part-time and to quickly return to my bed.

Sunday: Did not get out of bed all day and hubby left me to sleep because I am so sick at this point I barely sleep… it is at that moment that I realize that is most likely NOT a stomach virus. As any movement at all makes me cry out in agony. Hubby tries to get me to go to the emergency room but I tell him I’m fine (when I’m clearly not).

Monday: I don’t go to work because I can’t move… still. Hubby FORCES me to go to the ER. I oblige as I feel as though I’m dying. While in emergency they check for pregnancy, appendicitis, and who knows what else. Turns out I have ovarian cysts. I am sorry if that grosses anyone out… but as I had cervical cancer a few years ago… I am scared of anything that has to do with my “lady parts”… lol. They tell me that the cysts should shrink on their own and that the pain should go away in a few days. If not, I have to go see my doctor to ensure that the cysts are not tumors. Yep… we’re back to that again…. ugh!!!!

Tuesday: I went to work… pain and all… Kinda foggy as I was medicated.

Wednesday: Work again and then the most horrific thing happens… my husband comes home to find my 15yr old having sex in my living room when he is supposed to be at school. We flipped out… and kicked him out to go live with his grandparents. I can’t… my health is fragile and he is doing everything in his power to make me lose my sanity. My mom makes it seem like its all my fault and that he needs attention. Attention?!! I’m working 2 jobs (one of which is cleaning up after grown a$$ folks who act as though I’m their maid and not just the lady who mops and empties the trash) just so I can buy a house in the next six months. But I should give that all up so he can get “attention”. As someone who was an honor roll student and literally was spoiled my entire teenage years and got all the “attention” I could stand (I was even in the newspaper for tutoring failing seniors while in the 9th grade)… I have no idea why he should get attention for all this negative behavior. Also, on my way home in a downpour of tornado proportions… I get a flat tire. Seriously… I damn near snapped.

Thursday: Woke up to excruciating pain and a swollen stomach… finding that stress is not allowing this to go away as quickly as the doctor had indicated. Got my tired “plugged” before work. Went to work while trying not to think about the stress my son is putting me under.

Friday (today): *le sigh* Just happy to see it is Friday and know that I can get some rest tomorrow and Sunday.

Some week…huh? The outfit you see below I wore yesterday. I had every intention of putting on makeup… never happened. I do regret that I wore leggings as it was the coldest day of the season thus far… even with tights under the leggings… I felt naked. So do you think this is TMI for my blog? Would you prefer I only talk shoes, makeup, & clothes? Have you had any health issues lately? If so, how are you dealing? Hasta la proxima ~besitos~

DOTD: Pretty in Pink

First let me begin by saying I don’t celebrate Halloween… I am a Christian and have not celebrated since I was a teenager. I think that everyone tries to make reasons why it’s okay to celebrate as a Christian but my believes are my believes. I will not change my ideals so that I can participate in a day that doesn’t appeal to me. But I will celebrate today as the day that I met my husband… and although my intentions was to never see him again… I’m glad that God had another plan.

As for fashion inspiration… today is the final day of Breast Cancer Awareness Month and that seems like a great day to wear pink. So to create my Divalook of the day (DOTD) I pulled out my favorite pink top from ASOS Curve and put it with my “fairly” new skirt from Lane Bryant. Now I don’t usually go into Lane Bryant and see anything that I desperately need to have… but this skirt… I think I actually squealed when I saw this skirt (black and gray leopard print… how could I NOT squeal). Doesn’t hurt that I bought it from my favorite sales people at the Arundel Mills Lane Bryant… S/O to Danielle & Sandra!!!

So I heard twice today that I was pretty in pink… and I thought… perfect title for todays post (s/o to jefa & work wifey)… All in all today was a great day. I learned something about myself today that I allow people to get into my head when they don’t deserve a place there. I am going to make it my mission to not allow the nonsense that people say get to me… because at the end of the day… I am awesome (and if I say it enough… its true… lol)… and although words hurt… they hurt more when you allow them to penetrate… here’s to stopping penetration… (that sounds dirty… but it’s totally not on purpose… lol)

I am about to go to my 2nd job of the evening… so I thought I would post these pics quickly while I had a chance… I apologize for the quality… hubby allowed the autofocus to  make me blurry… and I didn’t have the heart to repose…. Do you celebrate Halloween (or Hallows Eve)? If not, do you have difficulty explaining to others why you don’t partake in the festivities? If you do, what was your costume today or the costume of your child? Also, as this is the last day of Breast Cancer Awareness Month… have you checked for any lumps, knots, or swelling?

DOTD: Demasiado Lluvia

Pronounced  (Dee – Moss – e –odo   You – via) which means: Too much rain!!

Lately it feels like all it does here is rain. I wore this dress and was going to wear it without the jacket, but the rain wouldn’t allow for that since with the rain came a bit of a chill in the air. I don’t mind. I don’t think I’ve ever worn this jacket on my blog so it was a nice opportunity to do so.

Usually I would say something funny or deep here. But you know what… my brain is all sloggy and goopy. I feel like the cold medicine is killing brain cells (not like I can afford to spare any… lol). So I am feeling like a nap is necessary. So it’s all about the fashion today. What do you think of this outfit? Have you tried any pieces from Kmart yet?

Outfit Breakdown:
Dress: LYS (Kmart Fashion)
Jacket: Curve Appeal Consignment
Shoes: Bakers
Bracelet: Birthday Gift
Earrings: Beauty Supply

DOTD: How many does it take?!!

I didn’t want to say the whole line in the title because I didn’t want each and every pervert on the net coming to my blog. But today I wore one of my favorite vintage t-shirts. It’s an Tootsie Roll tee and it says “How many licks does it take?” with the little boy and the owl. I love this tee… but I usually wear it with a blazer… same reason as above. Need not have perverts following me around Maryland because they think I want something I don’t.

Also, today was the first day of many that are supposed to be warm. So I decided that I would wear my fur trimmed booties just in case it remains “Spring”. So this outfit wasn’t all that special… but I felt cute and powerful. And isn’t that what matters most? lol

In order to post this post... I had to wait until hubby got home. All the pictures I tried to take myself made me look dark as night!!! Gotta love my hubby!!

What do you think? Do you have anything you want to wear before it gets too warm?

DOTD: Did ya miss me?

So I know I completely have been lacking in the OOTD category. But because I haven’t had any reason to get dressed, I haven’t gotten dressed. And when I have gotten dressed, I’ve been too BLAH to take pictures. So today after church, I pulled off somewhere to take pictures. I promise to make more of an effort in this coming week.

Also, I still have the final giveaway that I didn’t do… so that will be #1 on my priority list tonight.

So what have you been up to?
