DOTD: Stripes & Floral

I was going to make today’s post a review of the Printed Tube Maxi Dress from Target’s Pure Energy Plus line. But I am totally and completely tired and it is past 2am. I wanted to post this look white I was still awake because I am going to also post my Sunday look later.

I love stripes (are you keeping up with all the things I like… its so many… lol) and I wear them where I can… I even wore them twice this week. Well when you add floral to the mix… how is that NOT cute. Now I will admit that I wear a size 3 in this dress (which to me means the dress is cut a tad small) but I love love love this dress. I got many compliments today. A lady even said to me that I must be a stylist because I look so well put together… BEST COMPLIMENT EVER!!! For someone to see your dream just based on what you’re wearing… AWESOME!!

Outfit Breakdown:
Dress: Pure Energy (Target)
Denim Jacket: Torrid
Shoes: ebay (seller: feetishheels)
Earrings: Beauty Supply
Flower: Dots

DOTD: Down Periscope

I’ve wanted to do a nautical look for a while… and now that the weather is attempting to cooperate… I figure today was as good a day as any. So I don’t have much to say because I’m exhausted… like seriously tired… and I have no clue why.

So… today it is all about the outfit… I love that the skirt has red & yellow piping… What do you think?

Outfit Breakdown:
Striped One Shoulder Top: Wet Seal
Red/Yellow Denim Pencil Skirt: Lane Bryant (oh so old)
Shoes: Liliana (shesgotcurves)
Necklace/Belt: Flea Market
Earrings: Beauty Supply

*sorry for the quality of some of the pictures… battery died before I could take more*

DOTD: Coral Sea Navy Battle

So I think that after yesterday's down post, today's post MUST be more brilliant and bright. So... here is an OOTD... It took everything in me to get these pictures done today... but I think it was necessary in order to help repair my mood.

So in my daily magazine flippage, I've been spotting tons of navy with coral. And I kept saying I would do it and would never get around to it. So as I wisely heard from Stiletto Siren the other day, dress for the job I want. I've heard this saying a billion times but I have NEVER utilized this philosophy while unemployed. Usually I look for jobs in my pajamas or in my comfortable "lived-in" clothing. So to actually dress in a pencil skirt on a day when I am doing nothing but housework and working on creative research... ummm....welll.... it worked... I do actually feel better and I have some ideas that I hope to get to Internet soon...

I also want to thank all my readers for your support... your comments and support mean EVERYTHING to me right now.... (not more than my kids... but you do mean a great deal to me)

on to the outfit...

Outfit Breakdown:
Top: Wal-mart
Skirt: Dorothy Perkins
Shoes: Target
Earrings: Burlington Coat Factory
Necklace: Beauty Supply

Ay Ay Captain... Anchors Aweigh!!

Not having a job is seriously hurting my inner Diva. So today I decided that instead of taking a photo of what I am wearing today, I would take a picture of what I would wear had I been working...

I have been wanting to do this nautical look for quite some time. So now that I know my shirt is actually navy blue & white as opposed to black and white, this helped this outfit along. You may recall on my feature "Finding Fashion Inspiration Everywhere" I drafted this outfit from the mother at the school. I think I did it pretty darn close...

Had I been at work, I think I would have gotten respect from sailors everywhere *winks*

Outfit Breakdown:
Striped Top: Torrid
Sweater: Torrid
Belt: Torrid
Pencil Skirt: Dorothy Perkins
Shoes: Michael Shannon (Off Broadway Shoes)
