I know I've failed miserably at being a blogger but as I've indicated on multiple occasions... life happens. So since the last time I was here, I've changed jobs yet again. The small company I worked for was bought out by a larger company and the changes were earth shattering. The people I had created relationships with and had in turn inducted into my "work" family were layed off and after the dust cleared I tried to remain positive. There were people who were negative even though they still had a job... and there were people who still wanted to consider it us against them. But if you know me... you know I just like to go with the flow. I don't like drama if I can completely avoid it. So I embraced the new co-workers which in turn made me some enemies... but again... I didn't let it phase me.

DOTD: Kiyonna Approved
Hola Divas…
If you have been a long time reader of this blog, than you are aware that I was part of the Kiyonna Blogger Brigade. They recently revamped it and I was given another opportunity to be part of the Blogger Brigade. I have to admit, nothing has brought this much excitement to me in months. The best part is that this opportunity presented itself just as I was returning to the blogging world. That is FATE my friend, in its finest form. So when I was asked to pick an item to review I immediately gravitated to the Winona Hi-Lo Wrap Dress. Now to give you some background, I have been completely in love with anything green lately. All shades of green are just pulling me in with a crazy magnetism that I can’t explain. So when I saw that the wrap dress came in “Green with Envy”… it was KISMET that we be together… and when the dress arrived… I was not disappointed. See my review below:
PRO
Fabric: Super soft, I swear I spent the day walking around getting people to touch how soft this dress is…
Color: Best shade of GREEN EVER
Fit: Excellent fit. Fit like a dream!!!
CON
Length: Wish this dress was a smidgen longer all around (but it could be it appears short because of all the boobs it had to go over) lol
Misc: I guess that I should mention that its low cut. I wore it with a cami because it was a lot of cleavage (for work). But I love this dress and that would never deter me from buying it…
Needless to say this dress would make it into my wardrobe regardless. I can’t imagine not being able to wear this dress again and again. Hasta la proxima ~besitos~

What Has Been Missing... and some awful outfit pics
Hola Divas,
Its been forever and I'm certain I've lost all my core fans. But I realized today... I'm not happy. And the reason I'm not happy is because I am no longer doing what used to bring me immense joy which is my blog.
This realization is what made me come to terms with the fact that I've got to get some things in order... and stat. First, I need to get my camera lens fixed. Second, I need to get my body back in shape to once again fit my favorite clothes. And last but not least, I need to make time to sit and blog about what is going on with me.
I loved coming home in a cute outfit to take pictures and then to sit and upload the pics with excitement and nervousness. Why nervous? Because as a blogger you always question how your outfit which you perceive to be amazing will be judged by the masses (yea... I say that like I have a huge fan base... lol). You hope and pray that the outfit you thought was dang near designer quality will be admired and used for inspiration for years to come (again it appears I think my blog is bigger than it is... trust me... I know better). But even with all the nervousness, fear, and criticism... blogging fed my desire to try harder... be more creative... and to take more risks with my fashion. Now I can't imagine going back to my humdrum fashion choices of 2009.
So even though the pics may suck... I will blog with my phone until my finances will allow me to fix my Canon camera lens... Below you will find a few outfits I was able to capture recently... again... I apologize in advance for the photo quality. hasta la proxima ~besitos~

Blogger Brigade: Kiyonna Fashion Done My Way!
Hola Divas…
Guess what… I’ve had a secret for a few weeks that I couldn’t wait to share!!! I’m the newest member of the Kiyonna Blogger Brigade. I’ve loved their clothing for… FOREVER… and when they contacted me… it couldn’t have been at a more perfect time. Why? Because I was already coveting multiple items on their website.
So lately, I’ve been on this wrap dress fetish type thing. The problem is that finding a REAL wrap dress is like the hardest thing to find… because the world is filled with thousands of faux wrap dresses but that is NOT what I was looking for (do you have any idea how hard it is to get a faux wrap dress over these boobies?). There were like 5 REAL wrap dresses on the Kiyonna Clothing website that were begging to be in my closet. Anyway… so in my search for the 1 item I wanted to wear (hardest decision EVER!!) I found this dress, the Whimsy Wrap Dress, and I chose it for 2 reasons. 1) the flounces around the hem… was like… ADORABLE & 2) it was one of the few items I hadn’t seen another blogger wear so I could really be original. Next issue was trying to decide which I loved more… polka dots or purple. Perfectly Plum… was my final answer… lol
When it arrived last week… I tried it on 3 times because waiting to wear it was KILLING ME!!! But today… the time finally came and I have to be honest… it was more than even I thought it would be. I LOVE LOVE LOVE this dress. The only flaw this dress has… is that it is not wind friendly… a couple times while taking photos I thought I might get arrested for indecent exposure… but that would have been one amazing mug shot. I have some other ways I can’t wait to wear this dress. I love that this dress is called the Whimsy Wrap dress because today… I felt whimsical in this dress. I could totally see this dress in Mad Men. How would you wear this dress? Do you like how I styled it for my initial wear? Hasta la proxima ~besitos~

DOTD: Making a little Sunshine During Darkness
Hola Divas…
I’ve seen some drama in the last few days. Drama that I can’t completely go into on my blog because I don’t know who will read it… but drama, none the less. I wish I could just put into words just what I’ve been through but know that it was work related and for the first time in my life I realized that I am not able to work with “every” personality. Anyway….
I love purple… I think that in the years that I’ve worked on this blog you may have figured that out… lmao… so when I need some “fabric courage”… I tend to go with purple (my signature color) or red (my power color). In this instance, today, I went with purple. I also went with yellow because I love purple and yellow together and I also think that nothing brightens up a day like yellow… hence my title…
I don’t know how I truly feel about this outfit but I do know that I felt better after putting it on. Do you have a color you wear for certain situations? Do you find that certain colors can give you courage or power where nothing else can? Or do you have a piece of clothing in your closet to accomplish this feeling? What do you think of my color combination? Do you or have you had a situation at work that makes you question everything? Hasta la proxima ~besitos~
What I Wore To Get Through Today:
Purple Tank: Wal-Mart
Yellow Top: Alloy
Skinny Jeans: Dots
Purple Pumps: Target
Earrings: beauty supply
Ring: Charming Charlie
Necklace: forgot…

DOTD: Not Dead or Dying
Hola Divas…
I disappeared… I know. I disappeared off twitter and my blog. Why? I was killer swamped and to be honest… I didn’t like any of my clothes. I’ve put on so much weight and nothing fits. So I was allowing it to affect who I was… and then something happened the other day… I got over myself. I stopped hating my extra poundage, and I stopped hating my hair (that is another issue within itself… but I digress). I decided that if I was going to be a TRUE blogger… I would find a way to love my hair and my body and bring my readers along for the ride. And then yesterday… this outfit came to me. And then I knew I had tapped into a bit of the old me.
Soooo…. here I am… wearing my favorite color and rocking a new way to showcase my natural hair. I have to admit… I really like it… and this is what being a FATshionista is all about… it’s about finding a way to… “Make it work” (in the famous words of Tim Gunn). I hope you like this… I hope not to disappear any more… but if I do it will be work related… not because I don’t love myself. I also am trying to find new places/ways to take pictures… because the hallway is so dark. I can’t wait until I can do outside pics again… daylight can’t come fast enough.
I hope this post finds you well… Have you had any body issues this winter? Are you finding ways around it? Do you like my natural updo? Are you wearing natural hair? How have you dealt with those “in between moments”? I can’t wait to convo with you… Hasta la proxima ~besitos~
P.S. I’ve officially been blogging for 2 years (totally missed my anniversary)
