Church Diva: Hear Me Roar!!!

Hola Divas…

So this weekend was a clustermuck (I really want to use a worst word there but this is a church outfit)!!!! The reasons why are so personal that I don’t even want to discuss here. But just know that I have been an emotional wreck. So much so that I have made a serious setback in my weightloss (stress eating is real!!!). So on Sunday morning I woke up with a determination that I haven’t had in a while and went to the gym and followed that by going to church. And let me tell you… it was just what the doctor ordered. Even though I was miserable most of my weekend, I was so refreshed after church that smiling while taking these pictures was a lot easier to do. I don’t have much else going on other than work and generally dealing with life trying to kick me in the arse every 15 minutes. But I am a lioness… hear me roar!!!

Do you stress eat? How high does your stress have to be before you start to stress eat? Are you able to steer back onto course after the stressful sitution has been fixed? Do you find (as I did) that you are stronger afterwards than you ever thought you could be? Well… back to the fashion. I really love this skirt which is another lovely gem from my friend at Boutique 115. I’ve been supporting her for years (even back when she was known as She’s Got Curves). And this skirt did not disappoint. I will be doing (this week) a write up on her store where you will all get a coupon code for her lovely boutique… so stay tuned!!!  Hasta la proxima ~besitos~

DOTD: Merry Holidays

Hola Divas...
Today is Christmas so I would first like to wish you a Merry Christmas or Happy Holidays from my family to yours.

The weeks leading up to this day have been some kind of stressful. The plans I had made were changed dramatically when my dollars wouldn't add up. I really thought my kids were going to have to learn the hard lesson of not getting anything after this hard year. I had sat them down and explained that Santa is not real and we work hard for everything we get. I didn't get the much needed raise I was promised at work & hubby wasn't working... and the "rob Peter to pay Paul" payment system I had been using lately, came crashing down on me all at once. But God is good and I had some friends help out with gifts for my kids and my parents got the one thing they asked for that I couldn't afford. Needless to say... Today they are exceedingly happy... and their happiness makes me ecstatic.

Below you will see the outfit I wore just to hang with hubby's family. Nothing fancy but it was in holiday colors and super comfortable. What did your Holiday consist of? Did you dress up or keep it casual? Was your family having hard times as well this Christmas season? I hope to hear from you in the comments. I know I haven't been the best at blogging... but my motivation is back and you will see more of me. Not just outfits but everything that brings me joy. Hasta la proxima ~besitos~

What I Wore Today:
Red cami: Forever 21+
Black top: Target
Green corduroy: Alloy
Leopard booties & leopard watch: Shoedazzle
Hello Kitty Glasses: Beauty supply

What Has Been Missing... and some awful outfit pics

Hola Divas,
Its been forever and I'm certain I've lost all my core fans. But I realized today... I'm not happy. And the reason I'm not happy is because I am no longer doing what used to bring me immense joy which is my blog.

This realization is what made me come to terms with the fact that I've got to get some things in order... and stat. First, I need to get my camera lens fixed. Second, I need to get my body back in shape to once again fit my favorite clothes. And last but not least, I need to make time to sit and blog about what is going on with me.

I loved coming home in a cute outfit to take pictures and then to sit and upload the pics with excitement and nervousness. Why nervous? Because as a blogger you always question how your outfit which you perceive to be amazing will be judged by the masses (yea... I say that like I have a huge fan base... lol). You hope and pray that the outfit you thought was dang near designer quality will be admired and used for inspiration for years to come (again it appears I think my blog is bigger than it is... trust me... I know better). But even with all the nervousness, fear, and criticism... blogging fed my desire to try harder... be more creative... and to take more risks with my fashion. Now I can't imagine going back to my humdrum fashion choices of 2009.

So even though the pics may suck... I will blog with my phone until my finances will allow me to fix my Canon camera lens... Below you will find a few outfits I was able to capture recently... again... I apologize in advance for the photo quality. hasta la proxima ~besitos~

DOTD: Big Pink Bear

Hola Divas…
Today I was not in a good mood. I know you will think this is TMI… but I recently moved “cubicles” and now I’m surrounded by women and I swear our cycles all synchronized. So I’m bloated, crampy, and I’m getting the tar beat out of me at work. I still love my job, just a bit stressed is all. So I wasn’t in a good mood so I felt like a bear. So I posted on our IM system at work… Don’t poke the bear… a pink bear… but still a bear lol.

The highlight of my day… hubby showed up to my job with some apple cider and macaroni & cheese (yes… he gets me!!). And I came home to find that my banana powder had arrived… WOOO HOOOOO!!!! Now I can take some Nyquil (yeah… have a cold too). So I thought I would upload my look because I love these boots and this scarf with this look. You probably can’t tell in this picture but I have on floral tights as well. When you’re having a bad day, what do you do to turn it around? Does packages arriving make you smile like they make me smile? Or is comfort food and wine your go to happy maker? Hasta la proxima ~besitos~

DOTD: Spikes & Leopard

Hola Divas,
That title sounds like some strange S&M club that you have to get a blood test to join. LOL. Anyway, I was super excited about this outfit and then NONE of the pictures turned out. Either I didn’t include the shoes, or it was blurry, or I looked like I was about to commit a murder (meaning I wasn’t smiling) or there is a dumpster in the background. Anyway… I’m hoping that you can see the premise of this outfit. Meaning that I wanted to show how I tied the pieces together and how I got to finally wear my first pair of shoes from LolaShoetique. These shoes are fierce!!! Also, if you follow me on twitter or instagram or facebook… you know I cut my hair… if you do not… then you are seeing my hair cut for the first time. Yes it looks like it did when I would pull it back… but now it has purpose… lol

Another exciting thing about today is a coworker hired me to style her for the fall. Which says that she trusts my ability and thinks I know a little something something about fashion. I posted 2 of the ideas I created for her below on my blog. Future ideas won’t be included on my blog as she wants it to be solely for her. I get it… I strive to be original even if I am using someone else’s look for inspiration. As with anything, we want to put our own spin on it.

I have very little else going on in my life other than work and family. So… in the weeks that I haven’t blogged… What have I missed? Hasta la proxima ~besitos~

DOTD: Leopard Crazy

Hola Divas,
I have literally worn leopard almost all week. Its getting to be weird… Just kidding. I mean, I can’t see anything wrong with wearing leopard 3 days in a row.

Tuesday: I wore a leopard cardigan & black cami with a fuschia maxi skirt and black wedges

Wednesday: I wore a leopard dress with a black blazer and with coral shoes and coral/gold accessories.

Thursday (today): you can see how I pulled leopard into a look today. I have to be honest… I won’t wear leopard tomorrow. I think I’ve hit my limit. But I loved the idea of wearing leopard shoes with leopard earrings.

I am exhausted because today was a stressful day and I got caught in a terrible downpour. It was awful and in a maxi skirt it was like carrying a heavy wet towel around my waist for a while… YIKES!!! But I still felt cute and fashionable. Its amazing how leopard print can do that for me. How to you feel about leopard? Would you ever wear leopard 3 days in a row? If not, what pattern is your favorite (zebra, polka dots, paisley, or floral)? Hasta la proxima ~besitos~

DOTD: Blue Leopard

Hola Divas…
Have you ever had an outfit that just speaks to you for days and you can’t clear it out until you wear it. This outfit is one of those for me… I fell in love with this outfit in my mind and even though my dress was bigger than I thought it would be… I still loved the outfit.

Now when I got to work the happiness of the outfit was almost ruined. How? Well, I work with a friend and although I value our friendship… she had become exceedingly more and more negative. And do be around someone who is that negative… is… well… exhausting. And today… during the meeting she tried to “imply” that I wasn’t doing my job well. I don’t hold grudges because that is who I am. But I feel that I am not being a good friend if I don’t tell this person that their attitude and demeanor is affecting our team. How should I mention to her that her tone is causing her to be left out of the “TEAM” environment? How do I do it in a way that she is not defensive? Do you have a co-worker that is also a friend? How do you deal with work “squabbles”? Hasta la proximas ~besitos~
