DOTD: Bohemian Chic

Hola Divas...
Today was a hard day... for so many reasons. I have this one guy at work that is truly trying to take me out my skin one action at a time. He says things and throws me under the bus in front of clients. Today I dropped the f-bomb while discussing his attitude without even realizing it. If you are the praying kind... pray for me.Because I only have so much forgiveness in my spirit to deal with his type of personality. Its funny because the people who work around him are the complete opposite of him.

Second reason today was hard... I had on the most uncomfortable shapewear in all my life. It was like walking around in a vice grip all day. What is comical to me... is every time I wear this particular shape brief, I swear I will throw then away... and then I don't... but I must remember this time... because the pain I experienced today was almost as bad as child birth. Maybe it was worse... I remember reading that someone died from an atomic wedgie... now I understand how. Anyway... I wanted to share the skirt I wore today from Boutique 115. Amazing skirt... everyone thought this was a full dress. Worth every penny!!!!
But before I leave you... Have you ever had someone at work change your personality? Make you behave out of character? How did you handle this situation? Hasta la proxima ~besitos~

Red/black chevron skirt: Boutique 115

DOTD: Just A Hint… of Purple

Hola Divas…
Last night I decided it would be best if I figured out what I wanted to wear rather then scramble in the morning and make poor decisions. I guess I now need to remind myself to also include shoes in my outfit choice because this morning I just could not make a decision. I tried and tried and all my black shoes looked the same. I finally had to rely on my daughter, Yaz, to help me pick a shoe to complete my look. I mean can you just imagine me standing over my shoes with a dazed look on my face… yeah… you can imagine it… can’t you?!

Today was almost a #fail because for most of the day I only had on half of my makeup and I forgot my ring so you couldn’t see the purple I tried to incorporate… but now the look is complete in the photos. I put on my makeup during my lunch and I added the ring when I came home to take the photos. If you’re wondering why I even added the purple at all… it’s because so many of us divas wear red/white/black… I felt like adding the purple would kick it up a notch. I really like this skirt… it really made me feel all sucked in… I also have it in black and can’t wait to wear that one soon with a review item I recently received for the holiday season.

Well… I have to get to my part-time… so I guess I have to end it here… What did you wear today? Do you sometimes feel like you are constantly repeating the same looks? I do… What do you do to spruce yourself up to the next level?

DOTD: Love On Top

Hola Divas!!!
Okay… I can’t get enough of this song. I listen to it every morning on my way to work. And each evening on my way home. I feel like that song (by Beyonce… btw) is the perfect song for how hubby and I are now. As the lyrics say Nothing’s perfect, but it’s worth it after fighting through my fears. I think that after worrying that I was making the wrong decision about our separation… or even more so about us getting back together… I think now I truly feel like I’ve made the right decision for me and for my family.

Now as for the outfit today… no… your eyes are not playing tricks on you… those are actually forest green patent stilettos… OH YEAH!!! I saw them… I loved them… I had to have to them… and I don’t regret that decision… Purple & green… love love love that combo. Anyway… I am on my way out the door to get to my part time… and then back home to go nighty night. I hope all is well with my marvelous readers. I am still on the lookout for more Diva Spotlight participants. And even if you’ve done it before… I would love to shine the spotlight on you again. Anyway… onto the fashion… ~besitos~

DOTD: Winter Ready

Its cold… its winter and there is no denying that is the season we are in. I decided to do a post with more than just a glimpse of my outfit. But too also show you how I cover up in the winter months.

Today I went to pick up my winter coat from my favorite new boutique in Hampden (Baltimore) MD. Article coming soon with more information on this great business. I didn’t do much today as it was cold outside and I had much work to do from home. So let me explain that the best part about today’s outfit is the fact that I found out that I can wear Kmart tights. I can’t wear Target (they are a joke) and Walmart is sometimes a hit or miss. But I was pleasantly surprised by Kmart today. I got a great of purple tights from them yesterday and they fit like a dream. the crotch actually comes to the (wait for it… ) the crotch. I am so tired of the panty area of tights hitting me about mid thigh. I am tall (by tights industry standards) and its so hard to find an affordable great pair. So I am pleased.

Today I also wore my new favorite skirt from Shesgotcurves. It is soooo long. How can you not love a skirt that is this long and just plain fabulous, especially during these cold days. I felt warm and cozy despite the outside weather. What do you think? How are you keeping warm?

Outfit Breakdown:

Vest: Forever21

Shirt: Dorothy Perkins

Skirt: Shesgotcurves

Tights: Kmart

Boots: Ebay (seller: metronomestudios)

Coat: ellos (K Staton Boutique)

Scarf (Purple): K Staton Boutique

DOTD: First day back to work

Today was my first day back to work and this outfit was so hard for me to settle on. I wanted something professional but also something that had a bit of my personality embedded in it. It was much cuter in person because the skirt has a side slit that you see when I’m walking or when my legs are crossed. The tights are ribbed similiar to my top.
I’m in a good mood because I’m working again, but by the time I took these pics… I am now officially exhausted. I have more to say but I’m puckered…

Outfit Breakdown:
Top: Dots
Skirt: unknown (have had this skirt so so long)
Tights: Wal-mart
Booties: ebay (seller: metronomestudios)
Scarf: Lucie Lu
Earrings: Beauty Supply

Let the church say Amen: Back to School

Okay… today was the first day of school… sort of. My 9th grader/13 year old (Leeky Leek) started his first day of high school. He is being so calm and relaxed about it. I didn’t get any pictures of him because he had to leave the house at 6:45 and my brain wasn’t completely functioning at that hour.

My 6 year old (Yaz) started 1st grade and she was adorable. I love her “Loving School” attitude, and I hope she keeps that for many many years to come. My youngest, the 4 year old (Mari) was able to meet her teacher for Pre-K today. I found out it was the same teacher Yasmin had but that she had gotten married which is why her name didn’t ring any bells. She will only be in school for 2 hours per day but its enough to amp up my writing and job search.

Today was a long day and I am exhausted but my body has to readjust to this schedule. But I will give you pics of my angels… and my not-so-diva-esque OOTD today… I love your comments… let me know what you think…

My Outfit Breakdown:
Skirt: Target
Tank: Wal-Mart
Shoes: Victoria Secret
Earrings: Beauty Supply

Yaz’s Outfit Breakdown:
Tunic/Dress: Justice
Leggings: Justice
Shoes: Payless

Mari’s Outfit Breakdown:

Jeans: Burlington Coat Factory

DOTD: The Very Pink of Perfection

“The very pink of perfection.”

Oliver Goldsmith quotes (Irish born British Essayist, Poet, Novelist and Dramatist. 1730-1774)

I feel this is the perfect title for my DOTD (Diva of the Day) for today. My 6 year old, Yaz, kept saying "That is Fashion" after I got dressed. She said I looked great. Of my 2 girls she is the one who takes risks with her fashion and I applaud her for it. Last night I painted her toes and put some clear on her hands... and she was estatic. I have been blessed with some awesome kids... What makes it more awesome is what she is rocking today. Her outfit is totally thrifted but so fashionable and she picked it herself... *smiles*

Her Outfit is slightly different in that her fedora has a sequin band around it. And her tank is Hello Kitty. But she threw on the teal cardi... super cute... SO PROUD!!

I designed my outfit after her...

Outfit Breakdown:
Tank: Wal-mart
Skirt: Dots
Shoes: Payless
Vest: Fatshionista Sales Post
Earrings: Beauty Supply

Another good makeup day... i think
