Church Diva: Almost Didn’t Make It

Hola Divas…

I’ve had a trying week. I can’t discuss it here because people I don’t want knowing my business read my blog. But just know that it was tiring and depressing. But through it all I tried my best to remain positive. And then Friday hit… and I just lost it. I stayed in bed most of the day and cried a few times. Saturday, I just slept all day. I know it sounds lazy but I think the stress of the week got to me.

Now this morning I had plans to go to church. But when I got up this morning, I just didn’t think I would make it to church. I told myself, God knows my heart. But then I thought… yeah… the devil knows your lazy heart… now get up and prove him wrong. So I got up today and got ready for church. I was lazy but I made it. And the sermon was what I needed to hear because I was letting this week take over my spirit. The sermon was about holding onto anger and letting it affect your life. And about how we allow that anger to cause us to sin because we know that we worship a forgiving God. And that is the lesson I needed to learn today. Going forward, I will be a better person.

Now onto the fashion…

I was inspired by an outfit on instagram. Follow pinklipstickhundra for inspiration. She has another page called Stylebydnicole where she posts her Polyvore creations. I love her creativity and use of color. And you all know how I feel about color… So I would ask a question here but today all I want to know is What was the best part of your week? Hasta la proxima ~besitos~

Holiday Party Casual Glitz

Hola Divas...
As the Christmas holiday quickly approaches I am trying to keep myself busy and entertained. Well, thankfully I have a party to attend this weekend since we are not having a holiday party at my office. It will give me an opportunity to wear this awesome gold/black skirt I got from Mynt 1792 via Gwynnie Bee.  I can't wait to wear this outfit. Of course, I may have to tweak some pieces but I hope all of it comes together as it is in my head. I also have a killer dress I want to wear on date night with my hubby but I must first find somewhere to wear it. So many outfits... not enough places to wear them... lol

What are you doing this holiday season? Are you wearing any outfits that you are excited about? Do you have multiple events you are attending? Give me all the details... I must live vicariously through you!!! Hasta la proxima ~besitos~

Pinup Date Night (Modcloth & Polyvore)

Hola Divas...
As the holiday season approaches, I start to see all the pretty dresses to wear to holiday parties and then I start to plan the outfit that will ultimately adorn my body when I wear said beautiful dress. I think about how glamorous I could be on this imaginary date night with my hubby. I say imaginary because my company doesn't do a fancy night out like previous companies of my past. But a girl can dream and hubby says he will "find" somewhere for me to dress up if the dress presented itself. Below, you will find this beautiful dress I found on Modcloth.com that I love. I am completely in love with mustard yello this fall and I want to incorporate it into every outfit. I am not much for a clutch (because I carry my life in my purse) so I went for something a little more heavy duty. What do you think of my outfit chose? Would you wear it? I would probably wear it with my plain wool black jacket. That way when I remove my jacket... you get nothing but wow factor from the dress and accessories. Check out their website because there is a variety of great items including plus size (YAY!!!!) Hasta la proxima ~besitos~

DOTD: Mustard on a Black & White Cookie

Hola Divas…
I got these boots.  And when I got these boots I couldn’t imagine how I was going to wear them. Then last night, this outfit came to me and the excitement of trying it out was making me crazy. Then I had to figure out a way to take the pictures when hubby is not around. So I apologize if the quality of these pictures is horrible. I tried to focus as best I could. I just got home (at 9pm…) and I didn’t sleep last night… so even though I want to write a whole post on the Potluck we had at work today… all I can think about is my pillow…

So I am trying to keep up blogging but with the holidays coming, the hours I’m working, and the lack of sleep… I don’t know how well I will do in the coming weeks. How do you think you will make it through the holidays? Do you have anything special planned? Hasta la proxima ~besitos~

Diva Spotlight: Diva Soiree

It has been many months since my last Diva Spotlight post. I mentioned on my Facebook Fan Page and on Twitter that I love the the opportunity to shine the spotlight on someone who is NOT me. I want to give my readers an opportunity to feel like the center of my universe for ATLEAST one day (but knowing that due to how infrequently I blog… you may be the center of attention for longer than a day… lol). So imagine my surprise when my coworker said she would love to be a Diva for the day…

So today I shine an office style florescent spotlight on… Diva Soiree of SoireeLove’s Channel on YouTube

photo

Dress & Lace Blazer: Macy’s
Shoes & Earrings: Bakers
Bracelets: Forever21

In her own words: I feel like a DIVA in this because I love the color against my skin. The lace blazer gives it a chic feel with the green trim sleeves and the bracelets shine the outfit up with a classy sparkle. There's just enough leg shown to be conservative yet sexy. I’ve never worn this color before but every diva should feel womanly in any color she chooses.

Isn’t she SASSY & CLASSY?!! Show her love in the comments...

If you want to be the next Diva to be Spotlighted!!! Send an email for more information to yramirez.diva@gmail.com or read up on my project here: Diva Spotlight

DOTD: Blue Leopard

Hola Divas…
Have you ever had an outfit that just speaks to you for days and you can’t clear it out until you wear it. This outfit is one of those for me… I fell in love with this outfit in my mind and even though my dress was bigger than I thought it would be… I still loved the outfit.

Now when I got to work the happiness of the outfit was almost ruined. How? Well, I work with a friend and although I value our friendship… she had become exceedingly more and more negative. And do be around someone who is that negative… is… well… exhausting. And today… during the meeting she tried to “imply” that I wasn’t doing my job well. I don’t hold grudges because that is who I am. But I feel that I am not being a good friend if I don’t tell this person that their attitude and demeanor is affecting our team. How should I mention to her that her tone is causing her to be left out of the “TEAM” environment? How do I do it in a way that she is not defensive? Do you have a co-worker that is also a friend? How do you deal with work “squabbles”? Hasta la proximas ~besitos~
