DOTD: Big Pink Bear

Hola Divas…
Today I was not in a good mood. I know you will think this is TMI… but I recently moved “cubicles” and now I’m surrounded by women and I swear our cycles all synchronized. So I’m bloated, crampy, and I’m getting the tar beat out of me at work. I still love my job, just a bit stressed is all. So I wasn’t in a good mood so I felt like a bear. So I posted on our IM system at work… Don’t poke the bear… a pink bear… but still a bear lol.

The highlight of my day… hubby showed up to my job with some apple cider and macaroni & cheese (yes… he gets me!!). And I came home to find that my banana powder had arrived… WOOO HOOOOO!!!! Now I can take some Nyquil (yeah… have a cold too). So I thought I would upload my look because I love these boots and this scarf with this look. You probably can’t tell in this picture but I have on floral tights as well. When you’re having a bad day, what do you do to turn it around? Does packages arriving make you smile like they make me smile? Or is comfort food and wine your go to happy maker? Hasta la proxima ~besitos~

DOTD: Feeling Fun & Flirty

Hola Divas…
Today I loved my outfit… I know I say that a lot but this outfit was special. My boss (Pecana) has found a renewed love for fashion. Her style isn’t exactly like mine because she like comfort over glamour… that is fine. Each individual deserves to find the fashion that makes them happy. In her search for a makeup artist she found a YouTube blogger that is not only great at makeup but fashionable on a budget. In one of her YouTube videos she shoes you how to make a fringe scarf (like the one you see me wearing below) from an old t-shirt. My boss and I both tried it. I did my in gray and my boss’ is in navy. Once it was complete I knew exactly how I would wear it, and then I added my cobalt skirt for a pop of color. Again… I really love how this outfit turned out.

Today was a rollercoaster… my part-time job is kicking my butt and I am just trying to maintain my finances at the same time trying to reign in a rebelling 15 year old teenage boy. Each day he tests my love and patience and to be honest… I don’t know how much more I can take before I snap, pack a bag, and runaway to join the circus (hey… at least I could wear sequins everyday and hang upside down from the rafters). Anyway… I know with prayer and positive re-enforcement he will get back on the right path (I hope and pray he does) it just hard to see the light through all the clouds… ya know?

Anyway… back to fashion… Below my photos you will see the link to the YouTube bloggers DIY video. If you visit her channel and subscribe… let her know where you found her link. I hope you try the scarf… if so… email me a photo or link me to your blog photo if possible. Have you done any really great fashion DIY projects lately? If so, what was it? Do you have any links to ways to use old shirts or jeans that don’t require a sewing machine? What do you think of my outfit today?  Hasta la proxima ~besitos~

DOTD: Doing It Casually on Friday

Hola Divas!!
I finally took pictures of a completely casual outfit. I woke up this morning not wanting to wear anything. Wishing I wore pajamas… because then I could wear my pajamas to work (sorry if that is TMI… but seriously… I hate clothes when I’m sleeping). So I finally decided on leggings and boots for comfort. I can’t lie and tell you this idea was all mine. My coworker wore something similar earlier this week and I just tweaked it and wore it… my way. I loved how easy and casual I felt today.

Don’t get me wrong, I love my stilettos and minis but sometimes… you want something that isn’t so “high maintenance”. Something that doesn’t scream “look at me” and today’s outfit was a perfect representation of that. As for the pictures below… sorry if I’m not smiling as brilliantly… but I was still sleep walking when hubby took these pictures at 6:50 this morning (exactly!!!). So I tried to smile (as he had instructed) but all I kept thinking was… I am really really close to my warm bed… me want me bed. So what did you wear today? Were you off today for Veteran's Day? Was this Casual Friday for you too? well… until next time… ~besitos~

DOTD: Allergic Reaction

Okay, so today I realized something… I’m allergic to something at my church. Now usually I would use this an excuse to look for a “new church home” which translates into me sitting home each Sunday NOT going to church. But I generally LOVE this church. The people are sooo sweet and they remember my name. Do you have any idea what it feels like to walk into church and have the Pastor address you by your name… not sister, or child, or young lady… but the legal name you were born with… its like HEAVEN (no pun intended). So instead of leaving the church I realize that before I walk into the church I will have to pop an allergy pill to keep my eyes from watering and my nose from dripping and my face from puffing. I bet here you’re wondering… why is it that two months in… I’m just now noticing it. Well, to be honest. I was in such shambles over my life and just depression and just sad. That every Sunday when the Pastor would speak I would burst into tears. Mainly because what he was saying was speaking to me. But since I joined last week I feel a change. You may not have noticed because well… its not that apparent because I’m blogging and well you don’t see me everyday. But I’m calmer and more at peace with where my life is… So today when I was in church… I didn’t cry. I just felt… at home and at peace.

I know all my readers may not like this subject matter… but its where I am at this current time in my life. So… I hope I don’t offend…

Now onto the fashion… This dress… this dress right here… lol… it is old as my son (give or take 5 years) which means this is about 10-15 years old. Yeah… I know right. My mom owned it and then “gifted” to me when I lost a lot of weight years ago and I literally had nothing to wear to work. So this was her gift… then after I had my 2 additional kids and I gained like a gazillion pounds and couldn’t fit an 18/20 anymore… (I seriously will post pictures one day of me in a size 24/26) so I put this dress into the back of my closet because… in my head… I could still wear it in my 24/26 size because it was stretchy… only it didn’t quite… ummm… fit. LOL. So I put it away to donate…. and honestly forgot it was in my closet. So now as I’m just completely at my wits-end on what to wear now that winter has somehow decided to NEVER LEAVE… I am doing what I can and wearing what I can to keep myself from going nutso!! Also, I realized that this is like the 3rd post in a row where I wore something in the teal family… I’m sorry… I mean to have more variety… but I don’t know what happened. So my intention is to make it up to you in the next outfit post.

Outfit Breakdown:
Sweater Dress: Ashley Stewart (gifted from mom)
Teal Cardigan: Motto (Curve Appeal Consignment)
Belt: Lane Bryant

Tights: Wal-mart
Boots: ebay (don’t recall the sealer)
Necklace: Wal-mart

Ring: Burlington Coat Factory

DOTD: Saved for a rainy day

It is awful outside… absolutely horrible with like 1000 gallons of rain. I am not happy… So I was “supposed” to wear this outfit yesterday but I just couldn’t be bothered to get all dressed. I felt like it wouldn’t be so bad to wear it today since the weather called for MIST… okay Mr. Weatherman… we need to really sit down and have a discussion on what exactly MIST means… because I’m certain MIST and HURRICANE are not the same… UGH!!!

So I really like the outfit but the only place I could take the pics are on my balcony without my camera getting wet. So you know how much I love this blog and doing ootd from you all… so you have to know that the rain is literally running down the back on my legs as I stand there and smile… lmao

So I asked everyone on twitter what color tank I should wear with this outfit… and purple won. But I always wear purple… so I decided to take the most original vote for burnt orange… I really like how it turned out SmileWhat do you think?

Is it rainy where you are? What are you wearing to stay dry?

Outfit Breakdown:
Orange Tank: Wal-mart
Skirt: Thrift
Sweater: Faith21
Fishnet Tights: Target (Assets)
Boots: Bakers

DOTD: Boobylicious and unemployed… again

So today was my last day at my new job. I thought I would be sad but I’m not… because it was completely out of my control. I mean… who could plan for the client running out of funds? No one!! So I am back on the grind looking for a new job. Only this time I am more confident of my abilities because this job ended on such a good note.

I am wearing my new favorite dress… which was perfect because I felt sooo super cute that nothing could break my stride today… This dress may look familiar because it is the purple twin of THIS DRESS

Only… this time I decided to take the belt that came with it and leave in my belt drawer (yes… I have enough of them that I need a drawer). And pulled out my flower belt instead. Then I added flower tights and my velvet booties and I really like out this outfit turned out… and since Purple is my signature color… the color I feel the most confident in… is it any wonder why I was in a good mood all day?
Now… I didn’t realize my bra was peeking out in a few of these shots… so look away if its too much… I’m just getting home and I too rumpled to redo the pics.

DOTD: Lacking Originality

You know there is a lot to be said for not having to think. I wanted to look cute today, but I didn’t want to have to think about what I was going to wear. So as I spent yesterday updating myself on most of my blog subscriptions, I came across an outfit that would be perfect for a Friday (my Friday is on Thursdays). So I borrowed this look from Michaniya of Finally Accepting All of Me. If you click that link it will take you directly to the post that has the outfit I am duplicating. I didn’t want the coloring to be so close but I was unable to find my pink or purple shirt that matches this one exactly (can we say it is time to do some laundry?).

And I’m glad that I didn’t have to think to hard on what I was wearing today. Because to be honest… with me finding out that I will not have a job soon… well… it’s stressful. I knew on Monday but it was confirmed 100% yesterday and I am upset but not like before. I guess because I love the job I was doing but the commute was kicking my arse. So I’m hoping that God’s plan for me includes a better job and shorter commute.

So not to harp on the negative… let’s move onto the outfit. I’m sure you’ve noticed I wear these boots a lot. I can’t tell you how comfortable they are and not to mention they complete any legging/skinny jean look. Plus, it snowed this week and I have no fashionable snow boots, and me busting my arse on black ice while trying to gracefully walk into my office is NOT a good look. So… What do you think?

Outfit Breakdown:
Long Cami: ASOS Curve (came with another shirt)
Teal Top: Target
Lace Back Vest: Sizes To Fit
Skinny Jeans: Torrid (in case you haven’t guessed, I love these jeans)
Boots: Aerosoles (love love love these boots… can’t believe I own Aerosole boots)
Earrings: Walmart
