DOTD: Low Key and Happy

Having a job where I can be dressed casually makes it more fun to get dressed everyday. It means I can dress up or dress down. It just really depends on my mood that day. I started my day off in the best mood. And even though it didn’t go according to plan (we had no internet at work all day – YAY filing!! lol) I still retained my good mood.

Nothing fun has been going on with me which is why I don’t do as many outfit posts. It was also raining for 2 days and I didn’t want to get my camera wet. Speaking of cameras… I am in desperate need of a new lens. And when I can afford it, it will be my gift to myself. I am pretty proud of myself. The old me would have been selfish and used my first couple of checks to buy clothes and shoes… I have steadfast stuck to my shopping in my closet theme. This outfit was something that came to me last night… and I love it… it was comfortable to wear all day… and at the same time I felt fashionable and trendy. Do you prefer your casual looks or your dressy looks? If you had a casual job, would you ever dress up again?

DOTD: Lace to Lace Communication

I wanted to try a stab at the look I did HERE which I don’t think was well received because of the pants being rather bright. So I decided I would use my DIY destroyed jeans to create the look but putting my own colorful spin on it.

I love how this turned out. However, I do not like how the pictures turned out. It is GRAY outside, its so gray it almost looks like its night outside. So my pictures look like I took them at dusk. I also used this broken down carnival pizza cart as a backdrop in some of the photos because I thought it would be fun. Lol… I’m in a great mood today. Some of the stressors of my life, got worked out for at least this month. I figure this is God’s way of saying… time to kick the job search up like 1000%. So that is what I’ve been doing. Don’t be surprised if you see a lot more Lo Quiero Ahora posts as on the days that I don’t feel like dressing up to do housework and job hunt, I will just post the items I wish I owned in order to keep my lovely wonderful readers and followers entertained.

So going through separation is hard… I’m not going to get deep on you. I’m going to get real. I am not in a place where I want to have sex with random strangers. But I also don’t think my husband “deserves” to get sex from me and think that all is well between he and I. So, here is something that you may not want to know. But I have a huge “healthy” sexual appetite. My husband knows this, and uses it as ways to try and make me give in. So I could use some help here readers. What would you do? You’re separated, but not divorced… how would you stay… happy?

If I’ve offended you in any way, I sincerely apologize… but this is my life currently.

DOTD: Loving My Reflection

I know I just slightly stole the name of my friend Courtney’s blog… but it was the perfect title for todays post. Since going natural I have days where I hate my hair and others where I love my hair. But since washing my hair yesterday and waking up this morning. I realized that this hair is the best thing for me. I love it. It’s my own natural curl and its wild and crazy and unpredictable… exactly like me.

I am still learning my hair but today I got dressed to have lunch with a friend and when I looked at my reflection… I just smiled. My friend saw me and immediately touched my hair and said “I love it”. Then I kept getting smiles from strangers… and normally I would say it was my makeup but today… I believe it was my hair. My curly hair that  moves with the wind and is tightly curled. My hair that I have fought all my life to enjoy and love and have always fallen short of feeling secure under. I would wear weaves and wigs and felt like people were looking at me and thinking “Look at this fake broad”. Now when people look at me… they see… ME. Not hair I purchased… but the hair I was born with. This is the final step of loving myself. I love my body. I love my face. I love my size. Hell… I even love my lone corn on my pinky toe (yes… I have one… shoes are cute but killer). But until this morning I don’t think my love for myself was complete. I am finally a 100% confident woman. Why? Because I know that when people see me they don’t see the stuff I use to hide pieces of myself… they see the real me.

Today’s outfit also was the perfect outfit for today… I couldn’t feel better

DOTD: Naturally Diva-licious

So here it is… the day so many have been waiting for… the day… THE WIG CAME OFF. That’s right. I decided 2 weeks ago that I would go natural and would give up the wig for good. So below you will see my new hair… and you will be along for the ride for my real hair voyage….

So today’s outfit has so many things that I really enjoyed. Today is Palm Sunday and I wanted to go to church but because my hair was a frizzy crazy mess… I wasn’t going to go. Then I decided that… eh… what does it matter… I’m not going for the fashion. So today was the Sunday that they got to see the NOT dressed up side of me. You know what I think most people noticed was not the hair or even the clothes… I notice many people look at me… and then drop their eyes to my feet… as if to say “Where in the hizell is your stilettos?” Hahahaha! Yep… I do own flats. So I wore my leopard flats with my DIY destroyed jeans. These jeans I bought to intentionally roll up and wear as capris. Then I asked on twitter how to destroy them and I made that my Saturday task. Destroying these pants. I am pleased with how they turned out. I figure they will only look hotter with each wash. I completed the look with my new City Chic Batwing Top. I wasn’t sure about this top when it arrived… but then I put it on this morning… and OMGee… all my worries disappeared. This top is A-MAZE-ZING!!!! The back… oh the back… is what did it for me… a little bit of sexy in a tunic… SOLD!!!

So even though this outfit is super casual… I felt super trendy and fabulous… especially after I got my hair done…
