DOTD: Re-vamped

Last night I watched my first episode The Vampire Diaries. Now all I can think to myself is how is it that I’m the last person in the world to see this amazing show. Its like smoking hot men that have fangs or fur… YUMMMMM!!!!
While I watched that show and Nikita, I perused my first days as a blogger. I saw some outfits that I would seriously like to redo. I realized that my first days as a blogger I didn’t have a great camera, and I was trying a bit hard on the makeup so I wanted to use some of the same pieces or colors and try and make the outfit a little less Franken-mummy…
Btw this skirt I’ve had FOREVER and I don’t even recall where I got it. But it is the most comfortable skirt I own. Its like that skirt you want to wear when your aunt flo is visiting and you don’t want to have anything uncomfortable across your stomach. So the point is, I love this skirt. And I wanted to redo this look…

What is hilarious is I completely HATE that photo… its like my worst nighmare… ewww…
So here is how I redid the look…

MOTD: Pinky the Brain

If you're a blogger and you read my blog, do you ever take a trip down memory lane and see how your posts were when you first started? I remember when my hubby couldn't be bothered to take my pics and all I was able to do was take my pictures with my cell phone or our digital camera. Oh how the days have changed. I have a quality camera and my blog is not only makeup but also fashion. But today while I worked around the construction workers, I wore my comfy jeans (we all have them... those jeans we wear when we don't want to be uncomfortable but they are still great on your body...). I also had on sneakers. I was going to give my readers a rare look at my jeans and sneaks but I then I had this brilliant idea to have a flash from the past and only give you a look at my makeup. Since I haven't done a video in a while... I thought this would suffice for my readers who like the makeup angle. What do you think?

DOTD: Color-less

Readers:
I am warning you now that this is the least amount of color you've ever seen me in. But I've seen tons of celebrities working this look (all black with leopard shoes) everywhere. The last few days have been so boring and drab but this outfit actually made me feel better. Why? Because everywhere I went people were staring. If I were a different girl I would be self-conscious. But style is the ability to be confident in whatever you're wearing... no matter what... at least in my opinion.

Now before I go on to this I wanted to bring you into a little drama i experienced lately. I had this friend who was a friend of mine and my husbands. He is significantly older... by older I mean he is hitting his 70s. He tells people he is 50 (in a pigs eye this guy is 50... if he is... life has been very very hard on him). Anyway, he was helping my family out by hiring me to be his taxi. I would drive him to work and other places and he would pay me gas and a little something for my trouble. I loved it.... it was easy plus it kept gas in my tank. Sometimes I would hang out after to make sure he was okay. He lives with his 35 year old son (his other sons are 39 & 36)... and his son drinks alot and just generally pays me no attention. Now lately he gets upset with his son because he will walk past me as though I'm not there... I don't care cause his son is a crap man... who cares if someone without a soul speaks to them? Not me...

I promise I'm getting to the point...

He goes on to tell me that his son is mad because he's still married in Guatemala to his mother and thinks he's cheating on her (mind you... his sons all know my husband... *sigh*). So on Friday night he asks me to ask my husband if he could help him move into another house. Hubby agreed and Saturday evening we wait & wait & wait some more... no call. So we call him... wanting to know what is his plans were... well this is where it gets great...

His outgoing message is a message to me telling me how uncomfortable I make his son and how its best if I don't drop by... did you catch that... HIS OUTGOING MESSAGE ON HIS VOICEMAIL...

Hubby asks me if anything is going on with him (in a damns pig eye... ewwwwwwwww) we fight, then I leave a very very nasty couple of messages on his voicemail. Call his son and told him to get his father some medical attention for his delusional tendencies (son tells me he never said that and also believes his father is 100 miles past CRAZY)...

Then today... he texts me and said (in Spanish... he speaks limited English)... "Are you still mad? Forgive me please. To forgiving is hard but is a sweet feeling also." Are you friggin kidding me?? The cajones of this man... seriously... 3 days later I'm supposed to be over it. He better be glad I'm too nice, exhausted, and broke to drive over to his house and beat him into an oblivion...

I wasn't going to tell you guys this story... but I thought... lately you guys keep saying in your comments that you love my little bits of me... so how does this one look? Hope it makes you laugh... I'm not laughing yet... but I think I will 2 years from now... again... What an idiot!!!!

DOTW: To Catch A Fashionista

It is so difficult to keep up with all the great fashion as it happens. I am depending on you to send me links if you see someone being amazing that maybe I overlooked or missed. I am reading so many blogs that I have to pick and choose, and that is not always the easiest thing thing to accomplish when you're also running a household and keeping 3 kids from killing each other. If you feel my choices are lacking some great divas (including yourself) email me a link to your post by emailing me or by contacting me via my formspring box on the right.

Here is what I found this week for this blogs...

First up is Ally from Cute on the Cheap whose outfit may not be all that awesome to you but I love the colors and the shoes... you do know I have a problem with shoes, right? Well, when I saw this post I had immediate shoe envy and I realized that this outfit was cute and easy to duplicate. Couldn't you see yourself wearing something like this?

Here is a blogger I have loved for quite some time. I find that it is easy to lose your luster for blogging but my beautiful Ashley from Yammering Muse has always been my go to fave and even though she has alot going on... she keeps blogging. She is a converser and she let's you into part of her world and the fashion is amazing. How she takes modern pieces and turns them into something retro is beautiful. So I had to add this look here to get her some more attention...

This next look is another simple look that is easy to duplicate but somehow it is super duper cute. Not to mention she later adds a scarf and jacket and that makes it easier love and how easily this outfit could convert to night, day, dress up or dress down. Sakina from Saks in the City is so easy to love and I'm positive she is not a new find to any of you.... but isn't this lovely?

You may recall that I featured this blogger in a previous week. She was fabulous then, and she is even more fabulous now. This jumpsuit speaks to me seriously and I now want it in my closet. That is one think about these fabulous divas... they definately give you closet envy. I have been envious of Beth's closet for a while and this outfit post on her blog, Pretty in Plus, just confirms that I have got to get to Canada and shop her closet like a ninja in the night...

This final blogger is amazing in the bloggers that she inspires. She does an inspiration calendar which in itself is amazing, but this month she is using other bloggers to complete outfits... I wish I had known and had been a part of this... I also hate that I am the last one to know about her in all her fabulosity!!! Here is Kimberly of Fab Finds Under $50... of all her inspired outfits of the last 2 weeks, this one called out to me in my sleep... seriously may duplicate it (don't know how... but want to duplicate)

So what do you think of my choices?

Finding Fashion Inspiration Everywhere #6: It's a Scary World

I live and breath Style Network. One of my newest favorite shows is It's a Scary World which follows Mel B around with a camera. Considering that I always felt I should have been born in England and wish terribly to have her accent, I watch the show and live vicariously through her. I also google her images on occasion for style inspiration. I know some of you are thinking why her... well its simple. The main purpose of my blog is to lift up women and to let them know that you can duplicate any look no mater the size of the model. I love Mel B's style and I love showing people just how polar opposite we are but that we can both look equally stylish if we pull the look off correctly (not that its difficult for her because I'm pretty sure you could bounce a quarter off that stomach). So although I may not look as polished, I think I did a pretty good job... not to mention I've been stopped by multiple people to tell me I look nice... What do you think?

My inspiration for today's outfit...
