Lucie Lu Review: Ladylike with Ruffled Feathers

Wanted to review this dress last week… and all the pictures came out… lacking that something. So I was awokened this morning by my beautiful construction worker alarm clock (seriously getting old) and decided I was going to make these pictures work. I love the dress but I guess my mood last week was destroying the DIVA effect I was going for… lol

So the dress is this one…

Which can be found here at Lucie Lu for $68.00
So below you will find additional pics of me in the dress. What I will say is this dress makes you look like you put up an effort without any effort at all. I love the ruffle and the mixed colors. I completed this look with silver & black jewelry and ruffle booties (from Dots). I felt it kept the look low key but at the same time extra flirty. I also have on mesh undies (I know… TMI) which gives you a feeling of complete breezy-ness…
This dress is the perfect addition to any wardrobe…

So head on over to Lucie Lu and check out what they have... beat me to the punch...
What do you think of this dress?

Finding Fashion Inspiration Everywhere #4: I am Leopard... hear me ROAR!!!

So I am in the process of writing an article about how I feel about leopard prints. And in the process I felt I would live the leopard look... Now I am not much a fan of the Kardashians... but if I did have to pick my favorite it would be Khloe. This is mainly because of her "actual" weight issues (unlike her sister who was NOT overweight) and how she has it the most together and yet her family treats her like a redheaded stepchild with a stuttering problem. So when I went looking for a look I wanted to duplicate, I didn't mind so much using her as my muse...

As I am not a celebrity, I know I may not hit the mark with this look... but I really really like it. I think it would really be cute if I had a plain leopard tank. I really don't know what else to say about this look...

Outfit Breakdown:
Blazer: Silhouettes
Leopard Tube Top: Loop 18
Skirt: Asos Curve
Shoes: Michael Shannon (Off Broadyway Shoes)
Earrings: Icing

DOTD: Imitation = Flattery

So I found an OOTD post on youtube the other day and I really liked the look, so I reproduced it with my own pieces. I hope the person with this video knows that I really liked it and only duplicated it because I really liked the pieces she pulled together. Here is the video:

The best part about her outfit and mine is the pockets... I really really love the pockets.

Outfit Breakdown:
White tank: Just My Size
Sparkle sweater: Torrid
Tweed skirt: Faith21
Oxford Booties: Bumper (Alloy shoes)
Belt: Came with something (don't remember what though)
Earrings: Beauty Supply

What do you think? Did I do her outfit justice?

DOTD: Coral Sea Navy Battle

So I think that after yesterday's down post, today's post MUST be more brilliant and bright. So... here is an OOTD... It took everything in me to get these pictures done today... but I think it was necessary in order to help repair my mood.

So in my daily magazine flippage, I've been spotting tons of navy with coral. And I kept saying I would do it and would never get around to it. So as I wisely heard from Stiletto Siren the other day, dress for the job I want. I've heard this saying a billion times but I have NEVER utilized this philosophy while unemployed. Usually I look for jobs in my pajamas or in my comfortable "lived-in" clothing. So to actually dress in a pencil skirt on a day when I am doing nothing but housework and working on creative research... ummm....welll.... it worked... I do actually feel better and I have some ideas that I hope to get to Internet soon...

I also want to thank all my readers for your support... your comments and support mean EVERYTHING to me right now.... (not more than my kids... but you do mean a great deal to me)

on to the outfit...

Outfit Breakdown:
Top: Wal-mart
Skirt: Dorothy Perkins
Shoes: Target
Earrings: Burlington Coat Factory
Necklace: Beauty Supply

Trying not to fall into this hole I've been digging...

I love my life and I love my fashion, but lately I feel like something is missing. I am trying to find inspiration but I don’t have it in me. So I desperately wait for the newest magazines so I can flip through and find something that will speak to me. But today that happened, I got the newest Lucky and Glamour magazines. Still…. Nothing!!!

Here is where the problem begins… I don’t have job and I really really liked my job before all that nonsense began. Now that I have been unemployed for months, I realize I haven’t gotten called for an interview not even once… and even though everyone wants to blame Obama I know it runs deeper than that… Companies aren’t hiring and if they are hiring it’s for overseas employees. And being a stay at home mom is hard... and I'm not much for this job. I have worked my entire life... by work I mean I have been a career woman. I have worked to always reach for the next higher position. And now I'm being outwitted by a  4 year old. Its a hard transition. And although I am in the pusuit of my dream... it seems so far off and out of reach.

So I was doing OOTD posts daily and I don’t do them as often as I would like. But what I notice is that I am also not getting as much visits to my site either. Then I have the Miss Curve Competition that I am so amped, stressed, nervous, and excited for so my blood pressure is probably off the charts. I don’t know what is the point of this other than to say… I’m sorry for not giving the best content… I pray that you understand that I am trying to dig myself out of the nonsense and hope I can bring this blog back to the way it once was. If there is something you would like to see on my blog… let me know… I live for your comments as they cause me to strive to be better.

She's Got Curves Review: Part of the Romper Room Gang

I was doing Lo Quiero Ahora's for all the retailers that I love but one of my retailers doesn't have anything new that I don't already own - She's Got Curves... so I decided to review other piece of hers that I had yet to review. This time it was a capri romper that I had previously indicated that I wanted. Well, I have no other rompers. Haven't had a romper since my mother was dressing me. I have always felt it wasn't the best fashion statement for me. But I think I may have been too quick to judge.

Reasons why rompers are great:
  1. Super comfortable
  2. One piece - so accessorizing & matching is fairly easy
  3. One of the easiest outfits to make work

With that said... I don't have anything bad to say about these...

What do you think?
Other pieces are from:
belt: Re/Dress NYC
shoes: Fredericks of Hollywood
earrings & ring: Beauty Supply
