Fashion Beauty Friend Friday: Spring Trends Just for ME!!

Todays Friend Friday is about what Spring trends speak to you to the point of actually trying them out yourself. So here are mine

1. Color Blocking:

I know this is the most popular trend in the blogosphere… but how can you NOT love a trend where you can where pretty much any set of colors and not have to explain why you wore then together. Just say color blocking and people will tell you how trendy and great you look… oh yeah… AWESOME trend (I could even call it the I don’t have anything clean that matches trend… just kidding)

2. PURPLE EVERYTHING

I love purple. If you’ve been here to this blog before… you know I love purple (and pink)… but purple and I have a connection that is SERIOUS!!! And this spring I see that purple is everywhere. Eyeshadow shades that are super bright and brilliant, nail polish, and clothing… I plan on being purple fabulous this spring

3. Coral, Olive, and Yellow Closet Additions

I love Coral, Olive, and Yellow and I intend to add additional pieces of these colors to my closet and so I can remix pieces that you’ve seen but make then so much more spring and make them POP!!

4. MATTE BOLD Eyeshadow Shades

Okaaay!!! This trend should surprise NO ONE. I love color. When I first started this blog I called myself a color whore… that has not changed. Color is what makes me happy. I can’t get enough of it and now that the eyeshadows are getting more bold and bright… I’m ecstatic.

5. 50’s Inspired Anything

I want to get more 40s & 50s inspired dresses and shoes. I think vintage bombshell looks work for me and I like how they accentuate my curves. I can’t wait to add more pinup type pieces to my wardrobe.

     

DOTD: Unfamiliar Waters

I don’t know what do… I am not used to having so many outfits that are particularly popular. I think this is the best dressed I’ve been in a while. And now that the weather is about to break I hope this is only the beginning. Anyhoo… I probably just jinxed myself… lol

My mind is all scattered. And I can’t seem to focus on words today. I think its my allergies and they keep my eyes watering. The medication is strong and I am a bit drowsy too. Don’t worry, there isn’t much going on today… so I am not keeping anything from you. My to do list included running errands and taking pics…

DOTD: Down Periscope

I’ve wanted to do a nautical look for a while… and now that the weather is attempting to cooperate… I figure today was as good a day as any. So I don’t have much to say because I’m exhausted… like seriously tired… and I have no clue why.

So… today it is all about the outfit… I love that the skirt has red & yellow piping… What do you think?

DOTD: Interview with a Diva

So today I had an interview for a job. I need this because I was starting to think my resume had poo on it. I’m pretty excited for this opportunity and I hope I get it. There is a phase 2 interview but they indicated that I should get a call for one.

So the 2 people I interviewed with were perfect. The lady I interviewed with was beautiful. She was slightly older than me but she had the most honest sweet eyes. I am a firm believer that you can see a lot about someone if you just take the time to make direct eye contact. She was also wearing this amazing green top… made me want to go buy something in that shade immediately…
Then I interviewed with the man who would be my manager and he was also very kind & had qualities of my father. So all in all… I really felt at ease during my interviews and think this company would be a great fit for me. Let us pray…

Lord,
Please help Yoli get this job. Let her future employers see the value of having someone like her on their team. She needs this job to finally get her family out of a neighborhood that has become increasingly more drug filled. You know more than anyone how much her family would benefit from this employment opportunity. So please help not only Yoli but her family. We ask all these things in your son’s name, Jesus Christ. Amen

Sorry… but the more people who pray for you the better right. They say at our church that your prayers may not be answered because of you praying, but because someone else is praying for you and you don’t know it.

Okay… on to the fashion. I got this dress yesterday from a fellow blogger Literal Gemini of Plus Size Pretty from a post she had on FatshionXchange. I need more dresses that I can put under blazers to wear to interviews so that I look professional but with little effort. This dress couldn’t have come at a better time. Because these shoes also came yesterday. I earned these for free because of my purchases/referrals to Shoedazzle. I love how this look turned out today.

DOTD: Burgundy & Coral

I saw the shoes, bought the shoes, & then it occurred to me… what in the hizzell would I wear with them. So then I’m perusing the Forever21+ website and saw this top… and then the shoes made sense in my world. So… this outfit has been sitting in my closet to be worn for weeks… but everyday I woke up to 30 degree weather. And everyday this outfit just sat. So today… we’ve got 73 degree weather… this outfit had to happen… oh yeah… pure happiness over here. Would have never have thought to put burgundy and coral together… now I can’t’ wait to try it again… but with different pieces…

Also, I am wearing sunglasses in most the pics… because with beautiful weather comes allergy eyes… They don’t show up as much on the pictures. But they are puffy.

DOTD: Salsa Birthday Bash

On Saturday night I had my birthday bash. I love to Salsa (Bachata & Merengue) and I don’t get out much anymore… so of course I wanted my birthday to include an opportunity to do this again. So I invited all my friends to come out and learn to dance or to celebrate and have a blast. It was so much fun. My camera was having issues so I did get a shot of my outfit… and some shots of the night… but there were a lot of shots that were scraped because they were blobs of blurry-ness… *shrugs* still it was the best time!!! Wish you could have been there
