DOTD: Smiley Face

Hola Divas…
Today was one of those really really long days that you feel like you never see the end coming. I stared at am Excel Spreadsheet for hours on end until my vision felt blurred. Today’s outfit was something I saw on Pinterest and I used for inspiration. The shoes and jewelry were my little spin on something quite simple.

I would love to give you more conversation today… but I’m so tired… so I will ask something general… Since the season finales of so many shows… is there any summer premiers you are looking forward to? I love Drop Dead Diva, do you watch it? If not, why? Hasta la proxima ~besitos~

DOTD: Accepting The Changes in Me!

Hola Divas…
I’ve put on weight. Big surprise as I’m sure you can see that in the pictures I post. But I’ve put on some significant weight. What is hilarious, is I’m the happiest I’ve been in a long time. And by happy I mean HAPPY. Not happy that I show the world, but I wake up happy and go to bed happy. Blessed that I’ve been able to experience another day with my family and friends.

So when I started this blog, I wasn’t happy. My marriage was in a shambles. I hated my job. My friends were only only friends when it was convenient for them. But now… now… the problems hubby and I experienced last year… made us a stronger unit. And my kids are liking the changes I made in myself along my journey. I’m not saying I was a crappy mom. I just wasn’t the mom I wanted to be. But all that has changed now…

To give you a list of everything in my life that has changed would take forever but here is what I am going to do… Starting tomorrow (yeah… today is shot) I’m going to begin Weight Watchers again and start working out. Because before I was a size 16 (sometimes an 18) and to be honest… the 20s I’m rocking lately are making me miss my smaller clothing. So if I need to lose weight to wear my clothes… I will be a selfish dieter… because it needs to be done. But during this time of larger me… I’ve loved myself regardless of how much stomach I’m carrying, and how tight my jeans have gotten. Which in itself has shown how much I have grown in the past year. Don’t get me wrong, my life is not all rainbows and unicorns… but when the tough stuff hits. I am prayed up and faithful and believe that goodness will follow the storm. I wanted to say this on my blog because I know there are many of us that gain weight and we determine our beauty based on what we can fit into… don’t do that. You are beautiful regardless of the number read on the scale. I am losing weight for me. But you have to do what makes you happy. Don’t do it because you are trying to live up to someone else’s expectation of what beauty is…
Okay… I’m off my soapbox… Now onto the fashion. Do you gain or lose weight when you’re happy? Will me going on a diet make me a bad blogger in your opinion? How do you feel about so many bloggers losing weight lately? Hasta la proxima ~besitos~

DOTD: Green Flash of Light

Hola Divas,
I’ve been trying all week to do a look that I could blog, because you need to know that I am my hardest critic. I look at the outfit and hate everything about it, but I get compliments all day. Yesterday was one of those days. I hated everything about my outfit but people kept complimenting me… I myself… did NOT see it. I did however accept the compliments with grace and class (and some confusion).

Today, was a complete accident. I was running late and this dress… I LOVE and I will probably wear it until it falls to pieces. But today… it was calling me from my closet. I then threw on my new sweater from Curve Appeal Consignment and I was in heaven. I just wanted to be comfortable today and in my desire to be relaxed, I found… in my opinion… a winner.

I also have to mention my earrings that I almost walked out of the house this morning without (called my son to bring them to my car this morning). Perfect final piece. Have you ever had an outfit that was a complete accident (meaning the pieces came together without any work)? Have you had people love an outfit on you that you HATED? What is the item in your closet that you will wear until it is dead? Hasta la proxima ~besitos~

DOTD: Pulling Out An Old Favorite

Hola Divas…
I love my new job. I mean I know I say it often on twitter and Facebook… but I really really love my new job. So today was a pretty big day. I had a big meeting that I had to prepare for and all this week was prep for said meeting. I had been told on Tuesday that I had to be careful with the amount of “skin” I showed at work. I know that many people would think I would take offense to this… but I didn’t. I even posted some information about it on Facebook because of 2 reasons… 1) Anyone who knows me knows I LOVE my boobies and they know I don’t always think before getting dressed & 2) Because my friends are hilarious and I knew that they would make some awesomely ridiculous jokes about it. However, some people took it quite serious. And that is how you know which people know you best.

So needless to say… when I knew I had this SUPER important meeting today… I knew I had to look professional and not show any skin. So I went into my closet and thought… what to wear. And this Igigi dress stood out and said.. “Hello!!! Remember me?!!” I did remember this dress and how often I wore it before I started blogging. But today… when I wore it… it brought back memories of how awesome I have always felt in this dress. I didn’t want to be boring so I decided to spruce up the outfit with coral accessiories (you remember how I feel about coral) and I felt like a million bucks. I also felt that adding the cami and the shoes made it professional with a little something extra. But a comment was made on my facebook/instagram photo "You allowed to wear shoes like that to work??” Which leads me to the question for today’s post… Are my shoes inappropriate for work? If so, why? Because in what handbook does any company mention shoes (other than flipflops & sandals)? Would you wear shoes like this to work if your were running a meeting? Do you think company handbooks should include what types of embellishments should be allowed on shoes that are worn in the office? Know that your answers to this question will not stop my shoe game (I mean seriously… you know how I love my heels), but I’m just curious what you all think… Hasta la proxima ~besitos~

DOTD: Golden Cobalt

I wanted to write this awesome post… but I just finished working and I am pooped. So I wanted to put today’s outfit up on the blog so you guys can see that I am completely serious about blogging regularly (its easier to do it as much as possible and then less later).

I wanted my boobs to look less humungous in this dress but I do love the way the colors came together. I love mustard… and cobalt… why not wear then together.

What did you wear today? How was your day today? Have you done any great shopping lately? If so, what did you buy? Hasta la proxima ~besitos~
