Church Diva: Hear Me Roar!!!

Hola Divas…

So this weekend was a clustermuck (I really want to use a worst word there but this is a church outfit)!!!! The reasons why are so personal that I don’t even want to discuss here. But just know that I have been an emotional wreck. So much so that I have made a serious setback in my weightloss (stress eating is real!!!). So on Sunday morning I woke up with a determination that I haven’t had in a while and went to the gym and followed that by going to church. And let me tell you… it was just what the doctor ordered. Even though I was miserable most of my weekend, I was so refreshed after church that smiling while taking these pictures was a lot easier to do. I don’t have much else going on other than work and generally dealing with life trying to kick me in the arse every 15 minutes. But I am a lioness… hear me roar!!!

Do you stress eat? How high does your stress have to be before you start to stress eat? Are you able to steer back onto course after the stressful sitution has been fixed? Do you find (as I did) that you are stronger afterwards than you ever thought you could be? Well… back to the fashion. I really love this skirt which is another lovely gem from my friend at Boutique 115. I’ve been supporting her for years (even back when she was known as She’s Got Curves). And this skirt did not disappoint. I will be doing (this week) a write up on her store where you will all get a coupon code for her lovely boutique… so stay tuned!!!  Hasta la proxima ~besitos~

DOTD: Bohemian Chic

Hola Divas...
Today was a hard day... for so many reasons. I have this one guy at work that is truly trying to take me out my skin one action at a time. He says things and throws me under the bus in front of clients. Today I dropped the f-bomb while discussing his attitude without even realizing it. If you are the praying kind... pray for me.Because I only have so much forgiveness in my spirit to deal with his type of personality. Its funny because the people who work around him are the complete opposite of him.

Second reason today was hard... I had on the most uncomfortable shapewear in all my life. It was like walking around in a vice grip all day. What is comical to me... is every time I wear this particular shape brief, I swear I will throw then away... and then I don't... but I must remember this time... because the pain I experienced today was almost as bad as child birth. Maybe it was worse... I remember reading that someone died from an atomic wedgie... now I understand how. Anyway... I wanted to share the skirt I wore today from Boutique 115. Amazing skirt... everyone thought this was a full dress. Worth every penny!!!!
But before I leave you... Have you ever had someone at work change your personality? Make you behave out of character? How did you handle this situation? Hasta la proxima ~besitos~

DOTD(s): Hopefully the Last Like This One

Hola Divas...
I know I said I would blog more often and I mean to keep my promise. Now I am also going to stop with the bathroom pics. I hate them but it's all I had at the time. But my tripod is coming... and with that means picture independence. I hate asking my friends to take my pictures... especially at work. But that is where I spend ALL my time. And now that I travel a lot as well... there isn't always a way (or a place) to take pics.

So while I am on the subject of travel. Let me bring you into my life for a moment. I am a mom, wife, and a career woman. It is hard to maintain all those parts of my life and to do so fashionably. I am in Richmond VA for most of my travel because I manage 2 areas (MD/PA & VA/WV). I have the most awesome crew that any manager could want but its still very hard. So my son asked me if I would have a mother/son date with him, because he misses me. When I'm home, the hubs is super clingy because I was gone the week prior. The daughters want me to do hair and nails and plan outfits when I'm home. It seems that my travel is mainly to rest after the week home. Is that wrong?

I feel like I'm not balancing this well. And I don't have any other friends who travel this much. Or if they do, I don't see it on Facebook. So I lean to my readers. Do any of your have a hard time balancing family life and work? If so, have you found anything that makes it easier? I'll take any advice you are willing to offer because honestly... I'm exhausted. Well... back to the fashion...

So I will do a dump of all the outfits I've been wearing lately and tomorrow hopefully I will be taking my pics like a normal blogger. But before I go... since I've been out the loop so long... Is there anything in particular you would like to see me blog? Are there any trends your want to see me wear? Any topics you would like me to discuss? Comment below... Hasta la proxima ~besitos~

Church Diva: A Sunshine Combination

I saw this dress on clearance at ASOS Curve and I knew I had to have it. And I knew it would go AWESOMELY with my Shoedazzle shoes that I don’t wear nearly enough. I have to admit… this outfit came out MUCH better than even I thought it would. And if you haven’t noticed… I changed my hair yet again… because the definition of Diva is keeping you on your toes (at least in my fashion dictionary that is part of the definition). Whitney Houston kept you guessing with her hair (even when she was a crack head) so I guess I am just changing who I see in the mirror on a daily basis… IMG_0266

Today was a great sermon. I think that Sunday is really my favorite day of the week. I am working on being a better person and this keeps me grounded and surrounded by like minded people. My reverend leaves soon for Iraq… so I will be on serious prayer patrol because he has to come back safe and sound because he is a father figure to me. I have a father but I like having a father figure who is also guiding me spiritually. Who doesn’t… right?

So this week has kinda sucked. No real reason why it did… it just… did. Have a lot on my mind and a lot to figure out in regards to my future and my family. Nothing depressing… just gotta find my path… which is easier said than done. I feel like I am becoming unplugged to fashion which is my only release. Fashion keeps me from going postal and killing everyone and lately… I feel disconnected. I feel like I am not wowing anyone… least of all myself. And if I can’t wear it or combine outfits in style… I bore myself… and I don’t want to bore you either… anyway… I wish I could make fashion my career… but I don’t see a way to include that in my plan without spending a great deal of time away from my children. And that… is NOT an option. Well, that is life as a parent and wife… Compromise. I wish I could be like those people you hear about on T.V. who quit their jobs as lawyers and open a restaurant or catering business. That unfortunately requires money… money that I don’t have… so… eh…

Ok… onto to the fun stuff… FASHION!!! I know I always ask a question… but right now… I got nothing… so feel free to say or ask anything in the comments you would like me to answer.

Mode Plus Denim It Up Project

While I was enjoying life in NYC, blogger Nefferth of Mode-Plus asked me to participate in a post with other bloggers doing different ways to rock denim.

 Blogger / Theme:

Madison of Lady of Fashion / Rock

Rocquelle of Consider Me Lovely / Chic

Anita of Thick Threads / Vintage

Jessica of Chic in Every City  / Classic

Queendiva (lil ol me)/ Glam

My genre was "Glam" and I was super excited when I found out I would be doing glam. I knew the skirt I wanted… I also knew the shoes I wanted… and then I had a plan to purchase a smoking hot bustier and then finances didn’t permit me to be able to do it. So as the deadline drew nearer… I was afraid I wouldn’t be glamorous enough. I then got this awesome idea to use my lace top… I decided to wear it the way that Queen Sized Flava (Sarah) suggested while we were in NYC… so I tried it out… and I have to be honest… I felt rather glam… and pretty smoking hot… 5 years ago… I would NEVER have worn this but I love how my fashion has evolved in such a short time. The best part of this… I was inspired by my new blogger companions and can’t wait to do something like this again. Check all of these ladies out on their individual blogs… PLEASE!!!

Lo Quiero Ahora: Happy Independence Day

Thought I would do a wish-list post with items that would be patriotic to the ring of Red/White/Blue.

Allegra Dress from Lucie Lu
~This would be patriotic with a navy cardigan, white belt and white sandals. Or just a great addition to my wardrobe because I need a red dress… lol

Long beaded caftan dress from eShakti
~ I love this maxi because it looks patriotic all on its own

Spaghetti Strap Paisley Printed Maxi Dress iconfrom Ashley Stewart
~ And if I add a red cardigan and sandals, this is perfectly retro and ready for July 4th

Sperry Top-Sider Paloma (Navy/Red Dots) from Zappos
~ This has all the nations colors included… what’s not to love?!

Torrid Denim - White Cropped Denim from Torrid
~ I don’t usually wear white pants… but this year I said I would get one pair and try it out. These would be a nice start and a cute way to creat my own red/white/blue outfit.

So what are you wearing today? Are you being patriotic? If so, feel free to leave a link to your patriotic look…

DOTD: Longest Day

I read somewhere (twitter or Facebook) that today was the longest day of the year. I believe that even if it isn’t true. Why? Because today seemed to go on FOREVER. My job isn’t terribly stressful. It isn’t terribly difficult… but today seemed to move in slow motion. I felt like it was never ending. But despite my exhaustion… I still was able to take some photos.

The highlight of my day… my internet is back up and running… YAY!!!!

So today’s outfit was a last minute accident. I wanted to wear jeans and be comfortable but to have fun with it. I am not a huge fan of my makeup. I think it looked better in my head than in photographs. I love how the necklace I received in FFFWeek matches that of the earrings that I had previously purchased from the beauty supply.

Fun fact about this outfit/photo-shoot: my shoes are literally falling apart as I take these pics. I had to come home and throw those shoes in the trash. Seriously. Also, in the picture where my arms are on the beams… I look up and see…. A ginormous spider…no more pics in that location… lol.

Do you ever take pictures that you wish people could see all that occurred to get the shot? Was today as long for you as it was for me?
