DOTD: ReVamping This Dress… Again

Hola Divas,
I know I’ve worn this dress only a few posts ago. But if I had been blogging as frequently as I would like… then this wouldn’t be as noticeable. But when it was so so hot on the East coast… it was just too much to get up each morning and to care enough to take a picture of my outfits. Its not because I didn’t want to… but because I just couldn’t bear to be out in that heat for longer than 5 minutes.

I know it sounds like I’m being overly “Diva” but actually I get severely sick when my body overheats. You probably can’t tell it now but I used to be a HUGE book nerd as a kid. So much so that while other kids were outside playing, I was indoors living inside my mind with the characters of my favorite books. Enter me as an adult who wants to spend the day at a theme park in the sun with my children… only to be told by my doctor that I can’t. Why? Because my body never adapted to life outdoors as a child… doing it now is not an option. My body overheats… I get the ugliest blisters on my skin and I have occasionally blacked out when the heat became too much. So the last 2 weeks… have not been fun for me… an hour outdoors has a tendency to leave me so drained I can’t function for like an entire day afterward. Anyway… today I noticed it was a perfect 79° this morning so I wanted to take advantage of a great outfit… and a low temperature morning. I’m very happy to be back on my game (please August… try not to suck). Hope you like this outfit… I LOVE the shoes!!! On to the fashion… Do you have any health issues that this heat is flaring up? How have you stayed cool during these super hot days? Has your fashion or blogging been affected by the heatwave? Hasta la proxima ~besitos~

DOTD: Blue Leopard

Have you ever had an outfit that just speaks to you for days and you can’t clear it out until you wear it. This outfit is one of those for me… I fell in love with this outfit in my mind and even though my dress was bigger than I thought it would be… I still loved the outfit.

Now when I got to work the happiness of the outfit was almost ruined. How? Well, I work with a friend and although I value our friendship… she had become exceedingly more and more negative. And do be around someone who is that negative… is… well… exhausting. And today… during the meeting she tried to “imply” that I wasn’t doing my job well. I don’t hold grudges because that is who I am. But I feel that I am not being a good friend if I don’t tell this person that their attitude and demeanor is affecting our team. How should I mention to her that her tone is causing her to be left out of the “TEAM” environment? How do I do it in a way that she is not defensive? Do you have a co-worker that is also a friend? How do you deal with work “squabbles”? Hasta la proximas ~besitos~

DOTD: Pulling Out An Old Favorite

I love my new job. I mean I know I say it often on twitter and Facebook… but I really really love my new job. So today was a pretty big day. I had a big meeting that I had to prepare for and all this week was prep for said meeting. I had been told on Tuesday that I had to be careful with the amount of “skin” I showed at work. I know that many people would think I would take offense to this… but I didn’t. I even posted some information about it on Facebook because of 2 reasons… 1) Anyone who knows me knows I LOVE my boobies and they know I don’t always think before getting dressed & 2) Because my friends are hilarious and I knew that they would make some awesomely ridiculous jokes about it. However, some people took it quite serious. And that is how you know which people know you best.

So needless to say… when I knew I had this SUPER important meeting today… I knew I had to look professional and not show any skin. So I went into my closet and thought… what to wear. And this Igigi dress stood out and said.. “Hello!!! Remember me?!!” I did remember this dress and how often I wore it before I started blogging. But today… when I wore it… it brought back memories of how awesome I have always felt in this dress. I didn’t want to be boring so I decided to spruce up the outfit with coral accessiories (you remember how I feel about coral) and I felt like a million bucks. I also felt that adding the cami and the shoes made it professional with a little something extra. But a comment was made on my facebook/instagram photo "You allowed to wear shoes like that to work??” Which leads me to the question for today’s post… Are my shoes inappropriate for work? If so, why? Because in what handbook does any company mention shoes (other than flipflops & sandals)? Would you wear shoes like this to work if your were running a meeting? Do you think company handbooks should include what types of embellishments should be allowed on shoes that are worn in the office? Know that your answers to this question will not stop my shoe game (I mean seriously… you know how I love my heels), but I’m just curious what you all think… Hasta la proxima ~besitos~

Igigi Review: This dress needs a job!

Ever wear something that you realize no where you go will do this item justice? I don’t currently have a job and I was wondering where I would wear this dress in order to really do the review. Then I decided that going to Wal-Mart to buy groceries and toothpaste was going to have to do. I noticed many people looking at me. I have to admit, I was seriously overdressed. But that is what made it that much more fun. The dress was gifted to me courtesy of IGIGI by Yuliya Raquel and it is is super comfortable & I am madly in love with this dress.

Reasons I love this dress:

The color: I have so many purple items in my closet, I felt that a blue dress was desperately needed.

The fit: It hugs up top and skims my curves below. This enhances my figure 8 frame making my curves sexier (in my opinion)

The length: Perfect length. Period.

There is nothing I dislike about this dress. Absolutely nothing.

I decided to wear it with my floral tights, my navy/black Shoedazzle shoes, my green earrings & green frog ring, and my black silver necklaces. I really like how this turned out. Along with my makeup. I've been sick so this is my first day really dazzling myself up in days… and it seemed like everything aligned in the universe for this outfit to be a success…
