DOTD: Longest Day Ever… no seriously

I got off work at 10pm… yes… you read that correctly… I am learning how to do the job my previous boss (Pecana) was doing. I love all the time she has taken to train me even though she doesn’t work there full time. I have to admit that if you had told me last year that I would be doing much of her job… I would have called you a liar… but wonders never cease.

So needless to say… I got to work at 8:45am and left at 9:59pm… color me exhausted. However, I love the outfit I was wearing today and since I haven’t blogged an outfit in what feels like months, I wanted to post this look before I passed out asleep.

I am soooo behind on blogging due to work & just life in general… but know that this weekend I plan on catching up with all of your blogs… scouts honor. I hope you like this outfit… Have you ever worked a day as long as I did today? (who am I kidding… this isn’t even the longest day I’ve ever worked… lol). Is there something you would like to see on the blog in coming days?

P.S. Hubby is doing much better. I know I never gave you all an update but he is feeling much better. Some days are better than others… but end result is that if he eats healthy… he will be fine **YAY!!!**

WorkWear Wednesday: Networking

This week let’s discuss Networking. Let’s discuss how we as bloggers should support and embrace other bloggers. I want to make sure I’m doing my part, so if you think I am not commenting enough, let me know. I try to comment as much as possible, but I currently follow about 200 blogs and I do comment as much as I possibly can. But today, I want to embrace those who follow my blog that I have never supported. If you read my blog and I have never commented or followed your blog… leave a comment here so that I follow you. I try to click your images on Google Connect, but it doesn’t always show me your blog name unless you leave a comment. That is why commenting is sooooo important. If you have a blog and you never comment on blogs, they may not even know you have a blog. So it’s good to network and comment on other blogs.

I am also spending this day networking for a new job on LinkedIn and via FB messages. Some friends have given me some good leads to follow. I will use those to hopefully find gainful employment. Because well let’s be honest… things kinda suck currently. Anyway, this outfit would be great for a day spent at my desk. The skirt is comfortable but the heels are high enough where I wouldn’t want to have to run around on my feet all day. Even though this shoe is really comfortable. Would you wear this to work? If not, how would you change this outfit to fit your job?

DOTD: What a view…

I tried today’s outfit a couple different ways because I wasn’t sure which look I like best. Today was not what I had hoped… I went to Kmart to get a first hand look at Kmart’s new collection… but my local Kmart has nothing… so I was disappointed.

But I went to my fave consignment shop in the world Curve Appeal Consignment and found a few things I liked… Thank goodness for consignment…

I am wearing sandals even though in Maryland it is not 100% warm but I can’t bear another day of boots or tights right now. I need some air on my toes…

What did you do this beautiful Saturday? What do you think of this look… which top do you prefer?

**Please note: The cream top kept riding up and the pants kept riding down… need new belts**

Outfit Breakdown:
Animal Print Faux Leather Blazer: Ashley Stewart
Purple Skinny Jeans: She’s Got Curves
Taupe sandals: Alloy
Cream top: Curve Appeal Consignment
Purple Tank: Old Navy
Purple ring: Flea Market

DOTD: We're a bunch of "YES" Women

Stress Stress Stress…

I am experiencing a high level of stress. It was better than it was last week but it still affects the way I am and who the world sees. I felt that I should address stress today because I don’t have one single friend who isn’t going through something currently. I mean anxiety is high and I find that I am trying to be extra bubbly to compensate for friends that seem to be completely in the downers. Maybe that is why I was the way I was last week so that I could be stronger for the people I care about. You know that everyone has a different way of dealing with stress and no one person is the same. But I do know that with my level of stress I try to deal with what I can deal with and eff the rest…

As most of us are mothers, daughters, sisters, employees, bosses, and friends so the list of things for us to do is never ending. But you have to be able to know when to say.. WHEN. I am learning that I can’t be at every event planned by friends. I know I can’t attend every meeting. I also am learning that I can’t do everyone’s extra work when they can’t complete it. I am on a first come, first served basis. If I have no more to give when you need something, sorry, you should have come sooner. So when people try to push you to your limit, understand that saying no doesn’t mean that you’re a bad person. And if the person you have to tell no doesn’t like it and has a problem with you not doing what they want, then let them know a true friend (or family member) would understand that you are just one person and that you can’t do it all.

Stop being a YES WOMAN!!! I feel like the movie Yes Man speaks to me in a special way only I’m the opposite. I say yes to everyone until I am overcome with stuff that I can’t complete because I am overwhelmed. And now I am finally at a place where I am learning how to say NO!! and excepting that not everyone is going to be pleased with my new way of doing things. But I am going to put my family first and make sure my health is part of that and everything else can come in a distance 2nd.  Are you overwhelmed and overstressed?

Now the outfit, I wasn’t going to wear this today, but stress at work needed an outfit that was devoid of color. I meant to smile in the pictures… but I think I was so cold taking these pictures outside… I just wanted to be done with them… lol

Also, you can't tell in the pictures, but these are fishnet tights

DOTD: WeLoveColors... even if they are a shade off

Okay, so recently I ordered some WeLoveColors tights because I was hearing all the time about how great they were, but had no real knowledge if this were true. So I decided to try out some colors because I have all the black I could possibly need and I already had a few colors that I loved. So then the dilemna became... which colors to try. Yikes... for a color whore like myself that was going to be the hard part. So I ordered Teal, Mocha, and a pair of black fishnets (well come on... are you even surprised?)

So I love the teal... no idea what outfit I am going to wear it with... but it is going to debut very soon. And the fishnets... well... I have to wait until the office gets over this outfit before I wow them again.

So long story short... I decided that today being that the office is quiet and so many people are on vacation, I would wear my mocha and test them out with a dress that has been in the back of my closet since I bought it 2 summers ago. I think I've only worn this dress once... maybe twice... but only once comes to mind. So when I put the tights up next to the dress it seemed like a perfect match... atleast in the horrible lighting of my home. Well, this morning I wake up and get dressed and in the light on the balcony... these things look grey... not grey grey... but brown with grey undertones... YIKES!!!

I would have been terribly upset and would have instantly ripped them off if these darn tights didn't feel like butter against my skin. It would have taken the jaws of life to force me out of these things once in them. I could have gone down a size they are that comfortable. I am in all kinds of heaven... seriously... HEAVEN... so even though the color is off I am terribly pleased and plan to purchase more.

So to complete my dress & off color tight look, I put on my brown booties (which didn't zip up all the way as my feet are seriously swollen the size of watermelons... I know... I'm a mess today), and my brown SWAKdesigns Signature Cardigan. All in all... I still rather like the outfit. What do you think?

Hey if you look really closely:
You can see my pink-eye!!

DOTD: Airport Chic/Celebrity Mom

Everytime you open a People Magazine you see moms in baseball caps and jeans. I decided to embrace my inner celebrity and to do a comfortable casual look that imitates what I see in so many magazines… I liked how it turned out and wanted to show that I am not 100% high maintenance. Plus everyone seems to like to see me in hats…

The workers are still here and driving me bonkers (along with my kids who have a problem cleaning after themselves). One of the painters who wanted help with his english is now hitting on me on a daily basis and getting on my nerves…

I’m easily annoyed today with these guys because its like they are messing up on purpose so they can keep coming in my house… *sigh* pray for me that I don’t kill one of these idiots before its all done!!!
But for the outfit… What do you think?
*note that on the last two pics i played with some features in my photo editor and couldn't figure out how to change it back lol*

DOTD: Who wears short shorts?

So during the non-a/c days of summer, I lived in short shorts and short skirts. And then it dawned on me this morning... I've never been photographed in short shorts. I know I have dimples in my legs, but you know what... I DON'T CARE!!! I love my legs, I love my body... and I know I will probably get some hate because of these pics... but I hope the reason I am an inspiration to others is my fearless attitude...

Outfit Breakdown:
Sleeveless Button Down: Wal-mart
Taupe Cami: Kohl's Sonoma Brand
Short Shorts: Wal-mart
Ring: Icing
Shoes: ShoeDazzle
*Note: Everything I'm wearing comes to less than $75 (shoes were $40)

Bring on the criticism... What do you think?!!
