Diva Spotlight: Diva Soiree

It has been many months since my last Diva Spotlight post. I mentioned on my Facebook Fan Page and on Twitter that I love the the opportunity to shine the spotlight on someone who is NOT me. I want to give my readers an opportunity to feel like the center of my universe for ATLEAST one day (but knowing that due to how infrequently I blog… you may be the center of attention for longer than a day… lol). So imagine my surprise when my coworker said she would love to be a Diva for the day…

So today I shine an office style florescent spotlight on… Diva Soiree of SoireeLove’s Channel on YouTube

Dress & Lace Blazer: Macy’s
Shoes & Earrings: Bakers
Bracelets: Forever21

In her own words: I feel like a DIVA in this because I love the color against my skin. The lace blazer gives it a chic feel with the green trim sleeves and the bracelets shine the outfit up with a classy sparkle. There's just enough leg shown to be conservative yet sexy. I’ve never worn this color before but every diva should feel womanly in any color she chooses.

Isn’t she SASSY & CLASSY?!! Show her love in the comments...

If you want to be the next Diva to be Spotlighted!!! Send an email for more information to or read up on my project here: Diva Spotlight

DOTD: Spikes & Leopard

Hola Divas,
That title sounds like some strange S&M club that you have to get a blood test to join. LOL. Anyway, I was super excited about this outfit and then NONE of the pictures turned out. Either I didn’t include the shoes, or it was blurry, or I looked like I was about to commit a murder (meaning I wasn’t smiling) or there is a dumpster in the background. Anyway… I’m hoping that you can see the premise of this outfit. Meaning that I wanted to show how I tied the pieces together and how I got to finally wear my first pair of shoes from LolaShoetique. These shoes are fierce!!! Also, if you follow me on twitter or instagram or facebook… you know I cut my hair… if you do not… then you are seeing my hair cut for the first time. Yes it looks like it did when I would pull it back… but now it has purpose… lol

Another exciting thing about today is a coworker hired me to style her for the fall. Which says that she trusts my ability and thinks I know a little something something about fashion. I posted 2 of the ideas I created for her below on my blog. Future ideas won’t be included on my blog as she wants it to be solely for her. I get it… I strive to be original even if I am using someone else’s look for inspiration. As with anything, we want to put our own spin on it.

I have very little else going on in my life other than work and family. So… in the weeks that I haven’t blogged… What have I missed? Hasta la proxima ~besitos~

DOTD: Leopard Crazy

Hola Divas,
I have literally worn leopard almost all week. Its getting to be weird… Just kidding. I mean, I can’t see anything wrong with wearing leopard 3 days in a row.

Tuesday: I wore a leopard cardigan & black cami with a fuschia maxi skirt and black wedges

Wednesday: I wore a leopard dress with a black blazer and with coral shoes and coral/gold accessories.

Thursday (today): you can see how I pulled leopard into a look today. I have to be honest… I won’t wear leopard tomorrow. I think I’ve hit my limit. But I loved the idea of wearing leopard shoes with leopard earrings.

I am exhausted because today was a stressful day and I got caught in a terrible downpour. It was awful and in a maxi skirt it was like carrying a heavy wet towel around my waist for a while… YIKES!!! But I still felt cute and fashionable. Its amazing how leopard print can do that for me. How to you feel about leopard? Would you ever wear leopard 3 days in a row? If not, what pattern is your favorite (zebra, polka dots, paisley, or floral)? Hasta la proxima ~besitos~

DOTD: Sick & Tired of Being… You Know the Rest

Hola Divas,
I’ve been sick all weekend and today I had to go to the doctor. But this weekend I wore this outfit to a baby shower and then threw it on again to where to the doctor (seriously it was for only a few moments as I’ve spent the majority of my weekend in the bed). I don’t usually do repeats… but I can’t even express how sick I feel. Went to the doctor today to only walk out not knowing what is wrong and a nauseous medication that I am refusing to take… No thank you for the side effects. I can deal with the nausea for now.

Before you comment… no I am NOT pregnant. You know if you show up to the doctor with abdominal pain their first action is to give you a pregnancy test. Which I can’t tell you how much it annoys me. I know my dang body… I’m NOT pregnant. I’ve had 3 kids… and each time I knew I was pregnant BEFORE I even took a test. So when I tell these foolish doctors that something is not right… its because I know my body. Anyway… I loved how these shoes worked with this outfit. I really did. I am on a blue/green kick lately… no clue why. Purple will still be my bestie… but I am seeing other colors for fun. What colors are you seeing lately? Is this a permanent love or are they your summer colors? Hasta la proxima ~besitos~

What I Wore To Get Well:

DOTD: ReVamping This Dress… Again

Hola Divas,
I know I’ve worn this dress only a few posts ago. But if I had been blogging as frequently as I would like… then this wouldn’t be as noticeable. But when it was so so hot on the East coast… it was just too much to get up each morning and to care enough to take a picture of my outfits. Its not because I didn’t want to… but because I just couldn’t bear to be out in that heat for longer than 5 minutes.

I know it sounds like I’m being overly “Diva” but actually I get severely sick when my body overheats. You probably can’t tell it now but I used to be a HUGE book nerd as a kid. So much so that while other kids were outside playing, I was indoors living inside my mind with the characters of my favorite books. Enter me as an adult who wants to spend the day at a theme park in the sun with my children… only to be told by my doctor that I can’t. Why? Because my body never adapted to life outdoors as a child… doing it now is not an option. My body overheats… I get the ugliest blisters on my skin and I have occasionally blacked out when the heat became too much. So the last 2 weeks… have not been fun for me… an hour outdoors has a tendency to leave me so drained I can’t function for like an entire day afterward. Anyway… today I noticed it was a perfect 79° this morning so I wanted to take advantage of a great outfit… and a low temperature morning. I’m very happy to be back on my game (please August… try not to suck). Hope you like this outfit… I LOVE the shoes!!! On to the fashion… Do you have any health issues that this heat is flaring up? How have you stayed cool during these super hot days? Has your fashion or blogging been affected by the heatwave? Hasta la proxima ~besitos~
