DOTD: Pretty in Pink

First let me begin by saying I don’t celebrate Halloween… I am a Christian and have not celebrated since I was a teenager. I think that everyone tries to make reasons why it’s okay to celebrate as a Christian but my believes are my believes. I will not change my ideals so that I can participate in a day that doesn’t appeal to me. But I will celebrate today as the day that I met my husband… and although my intentions was to never see him again… I’m glad that God had another plan.

As for fashion inspiration… today is the final day of Breast Cancer Awareness Month and that seems like a great day to wear pink. So to create my Divalook of the day (DOTD) I pulled out my favorite pink top from ASOS Curve and put it with my “fairly” new skirt from Lane Bryant. Now I don’t usually go into Lane Bryant and see anything that I desperately need to have… but this skirt… I think I actually squealed when I saw this skirt (black and gray leopard print… how could I NOT squeal). Doesn’t hurt that I bought it from my favorite sales people at the Arundel Mills Lane Bryant… S/O to Danielle & Sandra!!!

So I heard twice today that I was pretty in pink… and I thought… perfect title for todays post (s/o to jefa & work wifey)… All in all today was a great day. I learned something about myself today that I allow people to get into my head when they don’t deserve a place there. I am going to make it my mission to not allow the nonsense that people say get to me… because at the end of the day… I am awesome (and if I say it enough… its true… lol)… and although words hurt… they hurt more when you allow them to penetrate… here’s to stopping penetration… (that sounds dirty… but it’s totally not on purpose… lol)

I am about to go to my 2nd job of the evening… so I thought I would post these pics quickly while I had a chance… I apologize for the quality… hubby allowed the autofocus to  make me blurry… and I didn’t have the heart to repose…. Do you celebrate Halloween (or Hallows Eve)? If not, do you have difficulty explaining to others why you don’t partake in the festivities? If you do, what was your costume today or the costume of your child? Also, as this is the last day of Breast Cancer Awareness Month… have you checked for any lumps, knots, or swelling?

Diva Spotlight: Diva Jolene

I have to admit that this Diva Spotlight I am super excited about… When I thought about giving up and giving in this blogger supported me and commented and made blogging worth putting forth an effort for… When you have people who are that kind for no reason… it makes you happy to do something for them. I want to promote her as a Diva and I want to promote her as a blogger (she doesn’t do outfit posts often but she does bring you into her world with ease and flair)… So please please please show her some love as I shine the light on…

Jeans: Forever 21+
Top: Addition-Elle(Canadian store, ships to US though :) )
Shrug: Walmart
Shoes: Zellers(Canadian store, switching to Target in 2013 and I can't wait!!)
Earrings: Forever 21
Bracelets: Forever 21
Glasses: Clearly Contacts :) (hey, since I need them to see they're part of my accessories LOL!)

In her own words: I love this outfit, it's not fancy or even special, but I love it because since Fall has hit it's typical of what I would wear most days. I went years without wearing jeans much because I just couldn't find anything that fit comfortably and looked nice. This year I have a few great pairs and these are one of my favorites! They are very comfortable and I love the way they show my curves! I feel "thin" and sexy in them. The top is a tube top but I wear summer tops year round with layers on top when its colder out, and it's not rare for me to be shedding down to the summer top even when it's -20 C out because I'm having a hot flash LOL! As a stay at home homeschooling Mom I only get out of the house 2 or 3 days a week, so I like to dress nice when I do get to go out. This outfit is definitely one of the more casual looks for me, but I love it because it's just so comfortable(yes, I know I already said that...but it really is!) and I feel so good in it, how could I not love it!

Isn’t she a DOLL?!! Show her love in the comments...

DOTD: Ugh!!

I loved this outfit because it made me feel really ready for fall but for whatever reason I am not a fan of the pictures… I don’t know why. Maybe it’s because I’m exhausted and the last thing I wanted to do was to take pictures today. I guess I will post this and get your thoughts and opinions. Tomorrow it will be Diva Spotlight day and that means I get to dress super casually (can’t wait!!!!)

I know I can dress however I want on any given day… but as a blogger you do feel the need to try harder for your readers… How about you? If you blog, do you think it makes it harder to have “dress down days”?  Well… I hope you enjoy!!! ~besitos~

DOTD: Who’s Dat Chick?!!

Okay, you already know it’s me and if you read my tweets you already kinda know what I’m wearing today… but the title has more to do with the song I can’t get enough of lately… “Who’s dat chick?!” by David Guetta feat. Rihanna (that song get’s me all pumped up and happy and she does mention diva in the lyrics… what’s not to love)

I really like todays outfit because I took a minor step out of my box. I mixed patterns (not really boldly I admit… but hey… baby steps). So the skirt is a lace screen print, and the scarf is plaid. I finished off the look with my favorite lace booties (I know I say that about all my shoes… but hey… they are my babies). The back shot is because I love the kick pleat on the back of the jacket and just had to show it off… hehe!!!

It’s Monday… I’m not usually so fabu on Monday… especially when I’m so tired and just… “Having a case of the Mondays” But I wore something similar yesterday and I felt so awesome had to recreate it “differently” today. This will be my fall uniform: Scarf, blazer, tank/top, bodycon skirt/jeans, tights/socks & alternating booties and heels… I promise not to wear it so much it bores my readers. What do you plan on wearing a lot of this fall/winter? How will you keep that look fresh? What do you think of my “uniform”?"

Also… yes I am back to posing in front of that ugly red door… but because it get’s darker earlier… it’s harder to do outside pics… I’ll do outside whenever possible… Love ya’ll

DOTD: Purple Leopards are Extinct

I actually wore this outfit on Thursday but it was such a horrific day that I just didn’t have it in me to post it. I loved the outfit for 2 reason 1) the skirt because it was my birthday skirt that is leopard with purple and fuschia (my 2 favorites colors) & 2) Because of the purple booties I received from my blogger bestie Amanda (of Necessary Imperfections blog). She sent me these purple booties knowing that I would get much use out of them with my love for purple. I had forgotten I had them because it was summer and let’s be honest to hot to wear booties… but then while doing laudry and a closet overhaul… the outfit you see below came to mind and I like how it came together. Not to mention… it was super comfortable.

Now as each day passes I try to become a better and better blogger and I think I’ve found my stride with the outfit posts… now to find my place with the rest of it. So I have to get back in order with my other posts…. so going forward I will do Diva Spotlight posts on Wednesdays… That way I can ensure that they are done each week (if I have a willing participant). I don’t want this blog to be all about me. In the coming weeks… I also plan on changing my background because… well those pictures are 100% me anymore. I was so different this spring in summer with my hair and weight yoyo-ing… so I want to depict the many faces of… well… ME!!

So how are things with you? Do you blog? If so, what do you think sets you apart from other bloggers?

DOTD: Dangerously Studded

I first want to thank everyone for the get well wishes. I am feeling so much better today. I am still having spasms… but they are not to the point of crippling me. I loved my outfit so much today but it was awful taking these pictures. There was like a crazy amount of gnats & mosquitos flying around. I think you can see it on my face… that I was just… DONE.

Anyway… I am off work tomorrow and I have to admit that I can’t wait to get some rest. I am desperately in need of some peace.

So I have these ideas of what I want to do with my hair… but I have to admit… I’m drawing a blank. I think I will go back to the big hair… because I feel like it just fits my face.  What do you think? Which hair style do you prefer on me?

DOTD: Better Ridiculously Late Than Never

So I am laid up in bed. On Thursday evening I was in a car accident and left the scene with little damage to my car and “assumed” no damage to my person. Than the following day I woke up to what can only be described as spasms & vibrations of pain up and down my spine and my neck. I tried to suck it up all the while hoping that it would just work itself out. Well… by the end of the day… I wanted to DIE!!!! So I called the insurance company of the woman who had hit me and told them that my condition had changed and that I was going to the ER. They made note of it and I scurried off to get better. I spent 3 hours in the ER I can never get back… but I found out that I had a back & neck sprain. And was given medication to curb the pain. The meds are great but I try to limit my intake just because I don’t want to camouflage the healing process.

So I’ve been in bed for 2 days (with intermittent rides with the hubby to keep me from completely losing my mind) and I’m still in pain and have to go to work tomorrow. I have worn jeans and flats all weekend and although I want to be safe and wear flats tomorrow… I seriously want to wear heels because well… I love them and miss them.

So since the majority of my fashion has been pajamas the past few days… I decided to dig into my photos to find something I never posted… so here it goes… I wore this outfit a few weeks ago when it was like fall weather outside and freezing… I bought these corduroy pants in multiple colors and I love them and need them in additional colors. Seriously, don’t sleep on pants by Alloy
