DOTD: QueenDiva… where are you?!!

Yea, I know I’ve been MIA… and I could say its because I’ve been working and I’m exhausted and have no energy and don’t feel like blogging… but that’s not it. I didn’t feel like blogging because to be honest… I was tired of… well… ME!!! I was tired of the work involved in blogging and trying to be “cute” and “fashionable” and generally the whole point of it all. I still dressed everyday as per my style… but the photos would remain on my camera never to be seen or in some cases… no photo was taken at all. Each night I would come home with the sole purpose to blog and each night my laptop would go untouched.

So today I said that I would not let my fans and followers down another day and would post something… anything… weather it was cute or not. Yesterday, while having a conversation with a fellow blogger/bff (Amanda… love you girl) we were discussing our pure hatred for babydoll tops. Then last night… I fell asleep and didn’t put an outfit together… and what did I end up wearing today… a babydoll top hybrid. I call it a hybrid because it has such a wide opening it is almost too sexy to be considered a babydoll top. I am putting this look up first because I figure I can catch you up on my other looks in the coming days. I have a six take I have to complete by Monday so let’s just say that this is only the beginning of my return.

Now is today super fashionable? Maybe not… but is it comfort with a bit of badass sexy thrown in? YEP!!! So what have I missed in the blogosphere in my absence? Are there any posts of yours that I’ve missed? If so, leave your link in my comments so I can check it out!

DOTD: Just relax

Today has been long. I had an outfit that I was going to wear to be cute… but the idea of getting dressed made me tired just thinking about it. So I decided somewhere along the day that I would just be comfortable. I added the stilettos for the pictures but earlier I was wearing flats. Going out with friends… so heels again. I have had a cold/flu for what feels like months and I am exhausted in ways I never thought I could be exhausted.

Highlight of my day: I had to go to my son’s school today and with no makeup on and my coat buttoned up… I got winked at by (what I hope was) a senior and asked where I was supposed to be by a teacher… nothing like that to make you feel young.

Low of my day: I am STILL sick!!!!

How are you today? What do you think of my comfort outfit? And if you’re thinking you recognize this dress… its because I bought it last spring after doing a dressing room post and this is my first time wearing it… lol
P.S. I am certain that this dress makes me look pregnant… but trust me… I am not!!

Outfit Breakdown:
Dress: Faith21 (before the name change)

Sizes to Fit Review: Diamonds Fall-ing from the sky

This sweater-like tunic was sent to me from the kinds folks at Sizes to Fit. When it arrived, I kept putting off wearing it as I again was being hindered by my own ridiculous fear. I thought it would look silly on my lumps and bumps. But after I put it on with these leggings to have a moving around outfit (I have a lot to do today) I realized this was just the thing I needed. If you’d like this great tunic in your wardrobe for fall… get it here: Diamond Shape Front Print Tunic

Best things about this tunic:

  1. The length
  2. The colors (navy, silver, black… makes it versatile with multiple pieces)
  3. The band around the back (not sure why that was really appealing to me… but it is)
  4. The silver diamond shapes… seriously… super cute!!!

I finished off the look with my over the knee boots… and I was instantly a huge fan of the possibilities of this tunic. The fall wind is a bit nippy today so I added my crop denim jacket. Once I slapped on my 80s inspired huge silver earrings, I felt as though this outfit was complete. I love the end result… What do you think?

I don’t know if you've checked out the Sizes to Fit website but is is a great place to get affordable & trendy plus size clothing. As you know I just went back to work and all of their pieces are in my price range. I also love that they update their site weekly if not more often. Even time I visit Sizes to Fit I am pleased to find another piece I can’t wait to add to my wardrobe. Have you purchased anything from them yet? Well here is an incentive: 10% off our entire purchase if you use code DDT1210. Use it for yourself or maybe get something for someone special for the holidays.

DOTN: Hallows Eve Party Girl

I’m not going out to a Halloween party… I’m just going Latin dancing and it is the first opportunity I’ve had to wear my slash side leggings. Also, I don’t usually wear shirts that hug my stomach but after seeing that I am the only blogger living in that ridiculous fear, I decided to have fun with it.

Also, this is my first time wearing anything from Size Appeal. I love this top. Its super comfortable and soft and I feel pretty in this color. If I had an opportunity I would get this top in the other colors so that I could make multiple outfits from this versatile top. What do you think?

DOTD: Trendy Superhero

In a few of my most recent posts my outfits have not been what I originally planned my outfit to be.  I would plan it out during the evening and then in the morning it would either not work or not be anything I would wear. Today was another of those days. I was going to wear a Torrid denim zipper dress with these crochet footless tights… believe me when I say… it looked a horrific mess… the holes in the tights had fat going through and made it look like I had bubbles coming through. That was not going to be sexy or cute on anyone’s style-dar. So I regrouped.

Now I should also mention that I am the kind of person who has to wear her new clothes the instant she gets them and I have been trying to avoid that. So yesterday I received my ASOS Curve lace panel leggings and although I wanted to wait on wearing them… they were sitting on my dresser as I had not put them away… so it was easy access. Now I want to take a moment here and thank the good  people of ASOS for allowing they’re US customers free shipping, because if not for that, I would not have been able to get these amazing leggings. Now the next thing was trying to decide what to wear with it. So I tried my pink ASOS t-shirt dress and then the shoe thing was a problem. So I traded it for my white t-shirt dress and then that made me think of zebra booties… so that is how I came to wear this outfit… this outfit makes me feel super duper trendy… Like a Trendy SuperHero… I’m here to save the world from untrendiness… okay corny but it sounded cute in my head…

Outfit Breakdown:

Lace Panel Leggings: ASOS Curve
Lace-back Vest: Sizes to Fit

OOTD: My first shoot... ing

Remember that loving photo shoot from Saturday, it was a wonderful highlight of my day. Then... I left there to go the pre-fashion show thing... also awesome. THEN... I went to work with my brother as a security guard in Baltimore City. I don't usually have a problem with it, and I didn't have a problem on Saturday until about 10 minutes before closing I hear this popping sound. I think its a firecracker, cause you know... I'm a suburban girl and have no idea that it could be anything else. However, I did notice that when the noise happened, everyone around me hit the ground, flat like pancakes. I hear it again and then I see a man with a gun come out of the alley. I realize then... NOT FIREWORKS!!!
Now imagine that I am still standing (the only one standing)... like a tall oak tree unable to move. The shots continue to pop like the 4th of July. Then the girl I was speaking to before all this happened, pushed me into the door of the club, and she, I, and a few other people fell into the door like a bunch of domino. I could hear shots continue to ring out and then they stopped... I could hear my brother screaming my name. He then yanked me off the floor and checked me for wounds or bleeding. I had gotten a little trampled but thank God I was untouched. The night that was supposed to end at 2am stretched on until 7am as I was held hostage at the police station to give my statement... over and over again. I would have left sooner, but a fellow security guard was there as well and unfortunately his wife had been hit during the flying bullets and they would not allow him to go to the hospital until his statement was given. So I allowed him to give his statement before me. My poor brother remained outside in my truck waiting for me. When I did get home after 7am, I went to sleep... woke up around 1pm. Took my son to the mall for shoes at 4pm and returned to sleep when I got home. You know you're stressed out when shoe shopping doesn't cure what ails you.

So today... I had to go back and I.D. the guy I saw...  and now its over... I hope. The detectives I had to deal with were all really nice. I had gotten my nails done today and they couldn't stop telling me how cute they thought they were... gotta love the sweet guys I had to deal with. I have never been in a situation like this and it made it easier... I do appreciate how everyone who was on Twitter supported me... I was a crying mess yesterday. Today is better, but its still hard when I think about how close I came to leaving my children without a mother... if you haven't guessed... I won't be doing security EVER again.

Top: Stolen from brother's closet
Leggings: Newport News
