Church Diva: Revamping A Classic

Going forward my Sunday looks will be called Church Diva. I want to easily identify my looks I wear to church so you can search them if you so wish. Also, it will make it easier for me not to repeat any church looks close together. Anyways… onto the outfit…

I love this dress. Loved it the moment I received it from Lucie Lu. I don’t wear it as much as I would love too… but I do try to make each time better than the last… This is truly my favorite (big surprise). I couldn’t find matching earrings so I mixed two that were the same color. I also wore a new wig to which I added a feather bow. I’m so glad I saved this outfit to wear to church because today was a wonderful day in the word. I love my church. My pastor is going to Iraq at the end of August because he is also a Chaplain in the Reserves and he is getting deployed for 6 months to a year. He will be greatly missed. He makes everything so clear. His wife looks so sad. I just want to hug her and never let her go. Their marriage is strong, so with the support of the church the time will pass quickly (I hope). Watching her makes me realize how precious each moment you spend with your family and friends are. What would you do or how would you feel if you were in her shoes? Would your faith in God keep you while your mate was away? Have you ever had to maintain a long distance relationship, if so, what was your experience?

Outfit Breakdown:
Dress: Lucie Lu (gifted & no longer available)
Sweater: Torrid
Shoes: ShoeDazzle

eShakti Review: Take a Bow

Last month when everyone was posting happy about their mustard pieces in their closets, I realized two things… 1) I really love the color. Its darker than yellow but its still bright and makes you think “Fall/Autumn” ready   2) I do not own any mustard colored pieces… at all. So I decided that I would rectify that and decided to go with the dress you see below from eShakti. I was a little worried because I’ve seen some size issues on the web. And some other issues regarding the finished product, but I knew this dress had to be mine. So I jumped past my fear and decided this dress would be mine. When it arrived last week, I was almost afraid to try it on. But when I did, I knew that this would end up being one of my favorite dresses. Its made of some type of knit fabric, its a wonderful length… and the bow belt… I was sold. I know now that I will have additional pieces in my wardrobe soon… but for now… I am ecstatic that I began with this dress. Get it here: Surplice front knit shirtdress
Best things about this dress:
  1. The material
  2. The color
  3. The bow belt
  4. The fact that there is no belt loop. I feel like with each dress or top that comes with a belt I spend hours of my life cutting loops off items.
  5. Boobie space: I have ample bosom… and yet… there they are… nicely tucked away from site.
  6. length: I really wanted to be able to wear this to work… and this is so a work dress
I finished off the look with my fishnet tights (small fishnet holes), leopard print earrings, black necklace and my ShoeDazzle bow boots. I love the end result… Opiniones?

DOTD: Positively Bright and Gimpy

So... if you've been following my tweets this weekend you already know that I popped my achilles tendon and am now on crutches. What is more spectacular about it all, is I actually injured my ankle about 2 weeks ago, walked on it (in mainly wedges because it was less pain) and suffered through. Well, Friday it all came to a head. I could feel my pulse in my ankle and I wanted to DIE... so off to emergent care we went (we being hubby and I).

I was subsequently put in a air cast thing and put on crutches and pain meds. The pain meds make me loopy and great fun. My husband has been taking advantage of my happy nature when I'm drugged out of my gord... but who can blame him. I haven't been the best company as of late with all the drama at work. Which to make life all that much better, it is finally coming to an end. My last day here will be on Friday... after which time I will be taking legal action. So I will keep you posted. But for now... enjoy my week of outfits with the boot. Next week I will take it off for my pics and then put it on. As time is of the essence currently... I don't have time for the camoflage prior to work. Well as always... here is my outfit... honest opinions... I jumped in whole heartedly with a little bit of floral and a little bit of bow trends thrown in for good measure :)
