DOTD: Blue Lightning

Hola Divas…
Today I wanted to wear an outfit that I had planned long before my holiday vacation. I wanted to go back to work with a bang… a flash of lighting… blue lightning. So I decided to wear this great dress I got from Gwynnie Bee. I’m wearing this Three Dots Hi Lo Wrap Dress. I was going to wear Forever 21+ cobalt cami, that is until I got this Black/Cobalt Lace Tank Top also from Gwynnie Bee and realized it was too short to wear with my jeans and blazer as I had originally hoped. I really love how this turned out however, these pictures don’t do it justice. I wish I had taken the time to take the photos in the daylight earlier so you can really see how awesome this dress is.

When you have a little more junk in the trunk… you appreciate a dress that hangs longer in the back so that the wrap of the dress isn’t compromised. I went with simple makeup today. I was running late and didn’t feel like doing a whole over the top face. I hope to get up earlier tomorrow to bring my A++ makeup game… I will also make a better attempt at taking my photos during day hours. I’m so proud of myself at actually posting a post that is A) not in a bathroom and B) not a Polyvore outfit idea. Hopefully there will be more posts (with better quality photos) in the future. Don’t forget to follow me on Instagram to see what I’m doing on a moment by moment play by play…  And if I don’t post tomorrow (even though I really hope I will) HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!! Hasta la proxima ~besitos~

Shoeday Saturday: Like a Hole in the Head

Hola Divas…
Today I posted a video of my shoe closet(s) to Instagram, and I can honestly say that it is finally apparent to me… that I have a problem. I apparently am incapable of NOT buying shoes. I have so many that it looks like I own a shoe store. I do know that there will be a purge/funeral of a few pairs in the near future… but ultimately… I have too many shoes. I can say that I need another pair of shoes like I need a hole in the head.

With that said, it will not stop me from perusing the internet for additional shoes that catch my fancy… Below find a few that are touching my soul currently…

Bakers Shoes SPYGLASS $119.95

Recently I had to say goodbye to my only pair of black snakeskin pumps. And that was the hardest thing I had to do. But then I came across these lovelies. I wanted them so badly… unfortunately… they no longer come in my size. No reason someone else can’t buy them and make wonderful outfits together.

Anne Klein SARAFINA $44.99

Recently a coworker and I were having a discussion about the end of the navy shoe. How that no matter where or how long you look, you can’t find them. Its as though all navy blue pumps disappeared along with VHS videotapes. I know what you’re thinking, there are tons of blue shoes everywhere… and you would be correct. I can throw a dart and hit a cobalt blue pump easy… but dark navy pumps have died out somehow. Remember when you’re mom would say “Always have a brown, black, and navy pump to go with most any outfit”. I know that by today’s fashion standards, that no longer applies. But when I want to wear a navy shoe… then gosh dangit I want NAVY. This is the only one I could find that didn’t make me feel like orthopedic shoes were right around the corner…

LolaShoetique MISS MIMOSA $31.99

When I see that a shoes color is multi… I get so excited. There is something awesome about being able to wear a shoe with multiple different outfits and making it look effortless. Like the shoe above. I could wear with yellow, green, pink, orange, and blue. If I wanted the shoes to shine and own the spotlight, I could wear all black and let the shoes do all the talking. Which is why it saddens me that this shoe is not in my size… but if it were… oh the possibilities….

I know this was shorter than my normal shoe posts… but I have to take baby steps to get back on that blogging wagon. If there are any shoes you would like me to post next week, let me know.  Until  next time (Hasta la proxima) ~besitos~

DOTD: Merry Holidays

Hola Divas...
Today is Christmas so I would first like to wish you a Merry Christmas or Happy Holidays from my family to yours.

The weeks leading up to this day have been some kind of stressful. The plans I had made were changed dramatically when my dollars wouldn't add up. I really thought my kids were going to have to learn the hard lesson of not getting anything after this hard year. I had sat them down and explained that Santa is not real and we work hard for everything we get. I didn't get the much needed raise I was promised at work & hubby wasn't working... and the "rob Peter to pay Paul" payment system I had been using lately, came crashing down on me all at once. But God is good and I had some friends help out with gifts for my kids and my parents got the one thing they asked for that I couldn't afford. Needless to say... Today they are exceedingly happy... and their happiness makes me ecstatic.

Below you will see the outfit I wore just to hang with hubby's family. Nothing fancy but it was in holiday colors and super comfortable. What did your Holiday consist of? Did you dress up or keep it casual? Was your family having hard times as well this Christmas season? I hope to hear from you in the comments. I know I haven't been the best at blogging... but my motivation is back and you will see more of me. Not just outfits but everything that brings me joy. Hasta la proxima ~besitos~

What I Wore Today:
Red cami: Forever 21+
Black top: Target
Green corduroy: Alloy
Leopard booties & leopard watch: Shoedazzle

Holiday Party Casual Glitz

Hola Divas...
As the Christmas holiday quickly approaches I am trying to keep myself busy and entertained. Well, thankfully I have a party to attend this weekend since we are not having a holiday party at my office. It will give me an opportunity to wear this awesome gold/black skirt I got from Mynt 1792 via Gwynnie Bee.  I can't wait to wear this outfit. Of course, I may have to tweak some pieces but I hope all of it comes together as it is in my head. I also have a killer dress I want to wear on date night with my hubby but I must first find somewhere to wear it. So many outfits... not enough places to wear them... lol

What are you doing this holiday season? Are you wearing any outfits that you are excited about? Do you have multiple events you are attending? Give me all the details... I must live vicariously through you!!! Hasta la proxima ~besitos~

Pinup Date Night (Modcloth & Polyvore)

Hola Divas...
As the holiday season approaches, I start to see all the pretty dresses to wear to holiday parties and then I start to plan the outfit that will ultimately adorn my body when I wear said beautiful dress. I think about how glamorous I could be on this imaginary date night with my hubby. I say imaginary because my company doesn't do a fancy night out like previous companies of my past. But a girl can dream and hubby says he will "find" somewhere for me to dress up if the dress presented itself. Below, you will find this beautiful dress I found on that I love. I am completely in love with mustard yello this fall and I want to incorporate it into every outfit. I am not much for a clutch (because I carry my life in my purse) so I went for something a little more heavy duty. What do you think of my outfit chose? Would you wear it? I would probably wear it with my plain wool black jacket. That way when I remove my jacket... you get nothing but wow factor from the dress and accessories. Check out their website because there is a variety of great items including plus size (YAY!!!!) Hasta la proxima ~besitos~

DOTD: Watch Out Der Now!!!

Hola Divas...
Are you shocked? 2 posts in less than a week. I am trying my best to just get back into this as my life itself is such a cluttered mess. As I indicated in the previous post, all this traveling is for the birds. Don't get me wrong, I love the work I do. Its just that its hard and difficult when you have so many balls in the air... and financially things are difficult with all the travel as well. But I figure that if I put in the time, I will be rewarded and eventually everything will come together. Positive thinking... that's all I have to count on lately... lol

So this outfit I wore yesterday. I meant to blog last night but as I was traveling... I was too tired once I reached the hotel. So here is the outfit I wore and the pics I took in the Doctor's office before I left. HAHAHA!!! I know... I will take a picture anywhere...

So I don't know if you noticed on the previous post, but I've been partaking in Gwynnie Bee. Its like Netflix for clothes and I can't get enough. I as I am on a eating better kick. And just trying to lose some of this weight. Gwynnie Bee has been awesome. It's a way to wear clothes in different sizes and to not completely kill my bank account. And if I REALLY like something, I can always purchase it. Hubby loves it because of course I'm shopping less... and I love it because I can try styles I normally wouldn't it without the obligation of keeping it. Have you tried Gwynnie Bee? How do you like about the idea of clothes on loan? Would you love a way to be trendy without buying something you will only wear once? Well as always... Thanks for reading... Hasta la proxima ~besitos~

DOTD(s): Hopefully the Last Like This One

Hola Divas...
I know I said I would blog more often and I mean to keep my promise. Now I am also going to stop with the bathroom pics. I hate them but it's all I had at the time. But my tripod is coming... and with that means picture independence. I hate asking my friends to take my pictures... especially at work. But that is where I spend ALL my time. And now that I travel a lot as well... there isn't always a way (or a place) to take pics.

So while I am on the subject of travel. Let me bring you into my life for a moment. I am a mom, wife, and a career woman. It is hard to maintain all those parts of my life and to do so fashionably. I am in Richmond VA for most of my travel because I manage 2 areas (MD/PA & VA/WV). I have the most awesome crew that any manager could want but its still very hard. So my son asked me if I would have a mother/son date with him, because he misses me. When I'm home, the hubs is super clingy because I was gone the week prior. The daughters want me to do hair and nails and plan outfits when I'm home. It seems that my travel is mainly to rest after the week home. Is that wrong?

I feel like I'm not balancing this well. And I don't have any other friends who travel this much. Or if they do, I don't see it on Facebook. So I lean to my readers. Do any of your have a hard time balancing family life and work? If so, have you found anything that makes it easier? I'll take any advice you are willing to offer because honestly... I'm exhausted. Well... back to the fashion...

So I will do a dump of all the outfits I've been wearing lately and tomorrow hopefully I will be taking my pics like a normal blogger. But before I go... since I've been out the loop so long... Is there anything in particular you would like to see me blog? Are there any trends your want to see me wear? Any topics you would like me to discuss? Comment below... Hasta la proxima ~besitos~

DOTD(s): When Life Gets In The Way...

Hola Divas...
I said that I would keep blogging and I am doing everything to keep my promise. Every night I put out an outfit and I tell myself that if this outfit is great I am going to take pictures and post this outfit. But then work happens... and if you work... you know how that goes. You can have all the best intentions in the world and then the day gets away from you and before you know it... you're home and the bra and shoes are off and there is not a hellz chance you're going to put them back on to take pictures.

So that is what is happening to my blog... LIFE!!! I just have to be stronger than the forces around me and continue the fight to blog. So I took pictures (yes its more horrible pictures from the bathroom) but I am going to breakdown what I'm wearing to hopefully make the experience more blog worthy. I guess we'll see how it goes over... Does life get in the way of things you enjoy? What do you do when that happens? Hasta la proxima ~besitos~

So much pressure!!

Hola Divas,
I'm sitting here trying to figure out what I will wear tomorrow to work because I want to look nice but I also want to get this blogging thing back in order. But my mind seems to want to rage against me being great. Everything I pull together is super boring. Of course, I'm probably being over critical but it is what it is.

Tonight, while on Twitter I became excited about blogging again. Also, I found out that my shoe game is missed. So I shall go back to my old self. Because if I'm being honest, I miss it too. Not to mention I haven't bought any new shoes which is sooooo not like me.

There is a lot going on at work, and that has been on my mind a lot lately, but today's sermon has put all that into perspective. I will not let what I can't control... control my actions. Do you allow your worries to stop you from doing something you enjoy? Hasta la proxima ~besitos~

Pictures below are some makeup looks I've enjoyed doing lately:

What Has Been Missing... and some awful outfit pics

Hola Divas,
Its been forever and I'm certain I've lost all my core fans. But I realized today... I'm not happy. And the reason I'm not happy is because I am no longer doing what used to bring me immense joy which is my blog.

This realization is what made me come to terms with the fact that I've got to get some things in order... and stat. First, I need to get my camera lens fixed. Second, I need to get my body back in shape to once again fit my favorite clothes. And last but not least, I need to make time to sit and blog about what is going on with me.

I loved coming home in a cute outfit to take pictures and then to sit and upload the pics with excitement and nervousness. Why nervous? Because as a blogger you always question how your outfit which you perceive to be amazing will be judged by the masses (yea... I say that like I have a huge fan base... lol). You hope and pray that the outfit you thought was dang near designer quality will be admired and used for inspiration for years to come (again it appears I think my blog is bigger than it is... trust me... I know better). But even with all the nervousness, fear, and criticism... blogging fed my desire to try harder... be more creative... and to take more risks with my fashion. Now I can't imagine going back to my humdrum fashion choices of 2009.

So even though the pics may suck... I will blog with my phone until my finances will allow me to fix my Canon camera lens... Below you will find a few outfits I was able to capture recently... again... I apologize in advance for the photo quality. hasta la proxima ~besitos~

I've stumbled onto Tumblr

Hola Divas...
I know I suck at this... I mean I keep saying I'm coming back and then I don't... but this time I am making more of an effort to keep you linked into my life. How? You may be asking... well... I created a Tumblr account. Which will allow me to upload pictures and things of my makeup, fashion, and shoes on a daily basis until I can get my lens fixed or purchase another one. Now that the weather is nicer I may just try to work around the horrible lens .. but who knows. Anyway... my tumblr name is similar to my blog name so that you will always be able to find me. is how you can stay up-to-date on my crazy life...

I know this post is short an sweet... but it was just to remind you that I'm still here... Love and miss all you!!!! hasta la proxima ~besitos~

Showing My Makeup Addiction Side…

So I realized lately that there are 2 things that wake me up in the morning. Shoes and makeup... and since I am so financially strapped since moving into the house and can't afford any more shoes... Makeup is how I get joy these days. Different looks, and colors with different lippies (occasionally).

Fashion still brings me joy but because nothing fits anymore and again I mention that I don't have any money... I can't buy anything that fits properly so I make do with what I have and its not anything I’m usually super excited to blog about... but there are those days where I am exceedingly proud of my makeup. So much so that I’ve tried to be consistent with my constant  Instagram-ing it... but maybe I can begin posting it here so that I can keep my blogging promise.

I don’t know if most of you are following me on instagram as well… but I thought I would show you my favorite beauty supplies that have me excited to do my makeup lately…

Now as for eyeshadow… I love MAC but I am not so concerned with always using top of the line eyeshadow. I am a firm believer that if you have on a great eyeshadow base, you can wear the cheapest eyeshadow in the world and no one would know who made the eyeshadow, because it would last all day… My eyeshadow base of choice is MAC Groundwork Paint pot

groundwork paint pot1

Like I said I love all types of eyeshadows but I do tend to to lean toward bright colors. I like MAC, Motives, Sugarpill, BH Cosmetics and Bitch Slap! but will use just about any brand as long as it doesn’t have too much shimmer. All that glitter seems to be too much for a woman my age. Ordered a new brand but I haven’t tried them yet… so I may update this post later.

These are my 2 favorite mascaras. I also like Maybelline Falsies and Great Lash Big. I do use other brands and play around to see which ones will give me the best definition. Benefit is probably the most I’ve paid for mascara for a while. But Maybelline and L'Oreal will work in a pinch for most looks.

benefit-badgal-liner-waterproof-extra-black2OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

As for liners I will use anything that is super dark and black. I have Ulta, Loreal, Badgal liner, and Kiss for my lower lash line. For my upper lash line I will sometimes use a pencil but usually I will use the Maybelline Gel Liner. I have tried other companies (not MACs Fluidline as of yet) but it is seriously my favorite.

MAC studio fixmac-well-defined-studio-sculpt-foundation

My foundations are usually the same all the time. I have the MAC Studio Sculpt and I have Makeup Forever HD foundation and that is usually all I use. I use studio fix as a powder set or Bare Escentuals. On the days that I don’t want to wear foundation I use BB Cream from Maybelline in Dark.

Buxom lips sarinalancome-juicy-tubes-ultra-shiny-lip-gloss-15ml-[1]

Now a days I usually tend to go with a nude lip because with my super bright eyeshadow looks… It looks best with a nude lip. But on the days when I don’t feel like doing a bold look for my eyes. I wear a bold lip. I am totally in love with Brazen Berry and Hot Plum from the New Maybelline Vivid Lip Collection.

Other must haves in my makeup closet (yes… it does take up almost the entire linen closet… but I digress)… here are the final products that wet my whistle when it comes to makeup.

banana powdernutmegcts-pl026ybf eyebrow

I love my banana and nutmeg powder for highlighting… makes my word go round as I get little rest and it hides my puffy eyes (most of the time). I also love my Coastal Scents concealer palette that I use to highlight my brow bone. And my ybf eyebrow pencil helps to complete my look. What do you do for your makeup routine? Are there any products that you would DIE if they discontinued? Do you use any of the products I mentioned above? Hasta la proxima ~besitos~
