DOTD: Stepping On Clouds Heading Towards Sunshine

Hola Divas…
Okay… today is awesome… I took my son to meet the principal and staff of his new “alternative” school. He was fighting me 100% but after sitting there and discussing the school with the staff like an adult… he seems excited to be embarking on this new future. I love my son… but lately… it’s been touch and go on how I was going to make it through this. Now… I know we can. He even wants to take some photography classes so that we can make my blog “our” project. Something we can do together…

So after the meeting with the school we went to this old abandoned hospital in Annapolis and took pictures. Those pictures are what you see below. They aren’t the best but I’m proud of him and how hard he worked to get them right. Also, he even came up with some poses he wanted me to try. All in all… I think he will be my full time photographer going forward. I really enjoyed the time with him.

As for the outfit… I FINALLY figured out a way to wear these shoes and this scarf together in a way that I like. If you recall the last time I wore it HERE… I wasn’t so pleased… Today however… LOVE IT!!! What do you think?

As for conversation… Who is your photographer? Do you have a tripod? If you had a choice, would you choose tripod or person? What do you think of pictures my son took? Can you tell I’m feeling a bit better? Hasta la proxima ~besitos~

DOTD: Intolerable Cruelty

Being separated sucks… (yeah that again). But today I watched the movie “Intolerable Cruelty” and it was a farce about divorce and true love. After watching it… I really could have used a cuddle. Who am I kidding… I could use a cuddle every day. And no… cuddle is not code for sex… when I’m laying day… I love being spooned. It makes me feel safe and protected. Anyway… it’s moments like those that make being separated kinda sucky… but… NY will fix all that. I finally finished packing… So… I’m in the best mood!!! Man… it was so hard picking what I was going to wear. But I think I made great choices. Wish I had time for a pedicure because I have some sandals I want to wear but my dogs are atrocious.

So I wanted to let you know I will try and blog from NY. But if I am unable, know that this will be my last outfit post until my return but I will make up for it when I get back. But if I have wifi in my hotel room… I will update as we go along (as much as possible)…

So tomorrow I will be in full fledged get packed and ready mode. I have to do some last minute laundry, pack the remaining items, give myself a home pedicure, and buy a few items (like flowers that match my outfits). I am super excited. And I can’t believe that I’m this ready 2 days before I leave. Usually I’m scrambling last minute to get everything together. Anyway… today was the most comfy outfit to date… but I felt so chic and trendy. I know… I say that a lot… but this outfit was completely accidental. As was my makeup. Yay!!! for accidents!! What do you think of today’s outfit? Would you wear it? Will you miss me if I can’t blog in NY?

Outfit Breakdown:
White tank: Hanes (men’s wifebeater)
Right Fit Jeans: Lane Bryant
Gray Blazer: Forever21+
Shoes: BCBG (no clue when or where I bought them)
Earrings: Beauty Supply
Ring: Flea Market
Flower: Dots

I had this outfit planned with black & white… but I couldn’t undercut my girl Stiletto Siren who is also working a blazer studded look. Anyway, I don’t have much to say today… and I’m hungry so I just want to get this post done to “FEED MY BELLY”

OOTD: Almost but not quite...

I can honestly say I don't HATE my outfit today. And I don't HATE my makeup. Its that I know that behind this outfit and this makeup is a heart that just wasn't a 100% into the task at hand. I do know that I want to make it my mission to begin collecting blazers and jackets I can throw on days like today when it is like 50 degrees when I leave my house in the morning. Seriously... it is April, right?

However, I do invite your constructive criticism... I will say this... No matter what... I wouldn't have worn a belt with this outfit simply because I don't try to mimic the same style so closely together. And since I wore a wide belt yesterday that wouldn't be on point today. All I could say is in my opinion... this would have looked better if my shirt were actually a blazer *sighs* and if my heart wasn't crushing from the weight of it all.

I seriously hope I don't lose my readers because of my lack of enthusiasm. I will get it together... its just I'm strong... but I was not prepared for this and it makes it harder to fight when you've been ambushed.

Outfit Breakdown:
Top: Curve Appeal Consignments
Tank: WalMart
Jeans: WalMart (Rider)
Shoes: Steve Madden (Off Broadway)
Necklace: Burlington Coat factory
Earrings: Beauty Supply

Here are my shoes... i think they're cute :)

Happy Happy Joy Joy: My purchases!!

Since my last post was about how I wasn't in the mood for much of anything... How about a little retail therapy to lift the mood. OH HAPPY DAY!!

Although some things may not touch flesh until next winter... it stills brings me happyness (intentionally misspelled) to buy clothes and to anticipate their look on me. Now this is my first attempt as purchasing from ASOS Curve and I'm not sure of the size to body ratio... but if it doesn't fit... I will live on water and lemon wedges until it does. :)

And if you happen to run into my husband... maybe keep these purchases a secret as he doesn't know I've bought these items yet.... Oooops... hehe... Hey... its necessary!!! SSSHHHHHHH!!!!!!

OOTD: Getting Snowy Chic and a SUPER Haul

I just used this post as an introduction to the Skorch blog. As my followers know, I believe you can find fashion anywhere. I believe you can shop in all kinds of stores to find something that suits who you are. You will find I shop the major stores on & offline but also don't overlook men's stores & consignment (thrift stores).

As my first OOTD for Skorch, I had expected to do something more glamorous and chic, but as the east coast is covered in about 4 ft of snow (in some locations more than that) I decided to work with what I had. Since today was the first day out of the house after 5 days of captivity, I went shopping. So instead of snow boots, I wore my walking sneaks, as I knew I would have alot of ground to cover. Although its not fancy, I still felt rather pretty all day, maybe even turned a few heads.

Outfit Breakdown:
Winter Coat: Thrifted
Gray Top: Torrid
Pink Tank: Wal-Mart
Jeans: Wal-Mart
Shoes: Nike Shox (don't remember where I purchased)
Hat: Burlington Coat Factory

Also, as you can see… I went with pink make-up (yet again). The best part about today is I am wearing a combination of pink and burgundy mascara. Not to mention a new pink liquid liner. Just what I needed after days of being stuck in the house with nothing on but sweats and t-shirts.

As I stated, I went shopping. See below my hauls from Torrid and New York & Company (great sale... buy one pant, get one free). We also bought some very hot items from Buckle for hubby. I will post him in his outfits one day soon, SMOKING HOT!!!!

Torrid Haul:
Red Sweater
Black Sweater
White Sweater
Teal Sweater
Red Belt
Curvy Jeans (known to the rest of the world as skinny jeans)

New York & Company Haul:
Black Flare City Pants
Light Gray Flare City Pants
