In a few of my most recent posts my outfits have not been what I originally planned my outfit to be. I would plan it out during the evening and then in the morning it would either not work or not be anything I would wear. Today was another of those days. I was going to wear a Torrid denim zipper dress with these crochet footless tights… believe me when I say… it looked a horrific mess… the holes in the tights had fat going through and made it look like I had bubbles coming through. That was not going to be sexy or cute on anyone’s style-dar. So I regrouped.
Now I should also mention that I am the kind of person who has to wear her new clothes the instant she gets them and I have been trying to avoid that. So yesterday I received my ASOS Curve lace panel leggings and although I wanted to wait on wearing them… they were sitting on my dresser as I had not put them away… so it was easy access. Now I want to take a moment here and thank the good people of ASOS for allowing they’re US customers free shipping, because if not for that, I would not have been able to get these amazing leggings. Now the next thing was trying to decide what to wear with it. So I tried my pink ASOS t-shirt dress and then the shoe thing was a problem. So I traded it for my white t-shirt dress and then that made me think of zebra booties… so that is how I came to wear this outfit… this outfit makes me feel super duper trendy… Like a Trendy SuperHero… I’m here to save the world from untrendiness… okay corny but it sounded cute in my head…
Outfit Breakdown:
T-shirt Dress: ASOS Curve
Lace Panel Leggings: ASOS Curve
Lace-back Vest: Sizes to Fit
Zebra Booties: ShoeDazzle

What do you think?
(by the way... did you notice my pop of color is my ring?)

hi hon, love the tee with the vest! you look fab <3
you. look. amazing.
Love the entire outfit. I wasn't a fan of those leggings but I loved the way you did it, now I'm in love.
I normally enjoy reading your blog, but I have to comment today. You mentioned that you just received some new clothing items from ASOS. So obviously you continute to purchase new items of clothing. Yet on the side of you blog you have a paypal button asking for readers to donate money. You also write other recent blog entried about how you are worried about finances and your family is suffering because you are unemployed. How about a little common sense and you STOP SHOPPING while your family only has one income? Why do you continue to spend money on new clothes while your family is struggling? I understand that businesses send you items to review and sponsor you, and that's awesome! But why not show readers how to create new looks with what is already in your closet while you continue to look for a new job? That way you can enjoy fashion, still blog, and save some money so your family isn't as stressed.
@jessielynn: I'm commenting here and I also commented on your blog. I guess since few people actually read my blog (they tend to look at the pictures) I didn't go completely into detail. But I will tell you here and then update my blog post. 2 weeks ago when I was so depressed I didn't leave my bed for days. My hubby and mother said that I could buy something as long as it was under $30. I decided that I wanted those leggings more than anything else. With the 10% off coupon code and free us shipping it came to like $20. Not to mention... I didn't pay for it. It was retail therapy. I'm sorry if I upset you and you think I am continuing to shop. As a matter of fact. I am selling my clothes locally and on my alternate blog and I am also returning items with tags. But those leggings.... I really wanted... and they made me feel better.

I read every one of your posts, and mostly I leave comments about your outfits. Today though I am going to comment on your situation.
I went through bankruptcy in 2007/2008/2009 - 21 months a long process and I was working all the way through it. But after paying rent, the trustee, bills, I would have $110 to $150 left out of my bi-weekly paycheques. Groceries, gas for the car, personal hygiene items and clothing all had to come from that. I was extremely lucky to have a fairly decent wardrobe, but I ended up having to buy $12 pants and tops at Walmart...Some of the tops were very cute and I still wear them...but cheap pants combined with legs rubbing together does not produce long wearing results. I cut back on entertainment - no dinners out, no movies, no going out for drinks. It was really hard but eventually I got through it. I have to admit my computer was my best friend because the place I was living suppolied the internet as part of my rent costs. I played games for free, watched some episodes of shows I had missed online, used it to surf retail sites and dream about the place I wanted to be in when I got through hell. I am hoping the same for you...finding your way out of your own bad place to something better. But honey I sure do understand where you are and how depressing it is. I too sold things to come up with money and it hurts hurts hurts. What kind of job did you have? I know too that the USA has suffered a lot more than Canada in this recession and that in certain markets it's extremely hard to find anything (that's more true in Eastern Canada than in Western Canada where I live). Anyhow, I didn't want to comment in case I hurt or offended you. But the thing is, I love your blog and your writing. I am sorry that you have to cut back on shopping, and have to sell clothes, but you know a person does what they need to and that which does not kill us only makes us stronger. Chin up - you're a beautiful smart woman and I hope you will be able to put these dark days beyind you sometime soon.
