First, I only wore this outfit for the post. It’s like 1000 degrees outside and there is no way I could wear all the above clothing without dying (or atleast passing out for a few minutes). But what is crazy, this is my favorite of all my workwear pieces. I need a job to be able to wear this. I mean… how cute is this outfit. Super cute. And can you believe that the accessories came to me last minute? I was going do do an all brown look… but at the last minute the teal earrings, shoes, and ring popped into my mind. And I LOVE it…
I woke up at 3:30am today and started applying for jobs. I am more motivated then ever to find work. I miss certain luxeries and I have a feeling that God is going to bless me soon. I don’t know when. And I have a feeling it won’t be what I was making before… but I can feel the blessings on the horizon. So I apply until this computer is on fire. Because this summer, I am working towards saving for a house for my children. Period.
So my question this week is this.. Would you still visit my blog if I didn’t ever have anything new? Would you still love me if my blog was just reworkings of pieces I already own? What do you think of today’s outfit for work? Would you wear it? Would you change any pieces?
Outfit Breakdown:
Top: Lane Bryant
Skirt: Kiyonna
Shoes: Shoedazzle
Earrings/Ring: Burlington Coat Factory
Belt: Flea Market

I would visit just for the dialogue!
Yes I would defiantly still visit..You inspire many of us going thru stressful situations..You continue to be honest and authentic and I love that..this is my first time commenting but I'm a fan on your FB page..Your style is great.
Of course I'd still visit! Great outfit - love the pop of teal from the shoes.
I would definitely still visit your blog. Love it! And the outfit is very cute. Looks like you getting ready to run somebodies office-LOL. All you missing is a briefcase. Good luck to you in finding a job. I'm in that same boat. It's tough but God will bless us.

Absolutely! No matter how much or little money anyone has should not effect their ability to work their wardrobe! I think reworking existing pieces and just adding your own spin on them by funky accessories etc makes blogging more fun for readers.....very few have huge expendable incomes and they are looking for inspiration! Good luck with the job seeking!
Most people don't wear new clothes (whether they're purchased new or via consignment, they're still new to the owner) with such frequency. Most have to re-work existing pieces, find fun new combinations, *especially* if they're out of work or have taken a cut in pay.
Blog or not: if it's a choice between purchasing new clothes or making your bills and saving up for a home, it seems that the latter is the far more responsible and logical choice.
I love your blogs and all the looks you come up with. No matter what you do, I will still be reading!
Mixing and matching existing pieces is what the majority of folks do. You'll just inspire all of us to wear what we own in different ways. I'll definitely keep reading.
Thanks so much... for following me and for th estyle compliment.
Thanks so much!!
I agree... we are going to be blessed with awesome jobs... so very soon. :) Good luck to you too!!
I agree... but the more "popular" blogs seem to NEVER wear the same thing more than once. And it's not realistic. I realize I didn't wear things often either... but now I'm challenging myself to try more looks with items that have been seen before... but with a twist. Thanks for the good luck vibe :)
I agree. But I think that we "bloggers" aren't always putting a realistic view of fashion out there. Before this blog, I repeated looks ALL THE TIME. Now I sometimes feel like if I repeat a look... that my followers will react. I realize now... that its all in my head and that my not always "unique" looks seem to really speak to my readers. Which I prefer over new clothes's anyway... and seriously... I NEED a house!! lol
Thanks so much... feel free to comment on past posts with a way you would like to see it reworked. I love to take risks!!
That is what makes me blog... that's so much... now would you still come by if I rock a mumu? lol!!! (I'm not bright... lol)
I love the brown with the teal shoes!! The gold belt is super cute too! Girl please...I would visit your blog if you took the same dress and wore it 20 diff ways because you are a sweetie pie! I will be praying that the Lord opens up a door for you as far as a job is concerned. Don't you just love how our children motivate us to do better! Hang in there girl and this too shall pass! Kiah
I love the gold belt and the shoes?! (I DIE!) They are a nice splash of color.
I love your blog, and I would keep reading even if you didn't have new stuff, because most of the things you talk about are things I can relate to. Like your job search for instance, I'm also job searching (I've started blogging about it to get rid of frustrations) and money is VERY tight for me too.
So, when you blog about your frustrations relating to job searching, money and men you are also talking about mine. Your blog is real and I love that.

i say rework what you have its your blog! i dnt just follow for your style but your personality and how open you are with your readers. i've reworked things and posted them on my blog. its a great thing to do especially if your not in a position to go on shopping sprees.
I think recycling pieces make me like your blog even more. I feel like women in the real world sometimes get frustrated withthe lack of variety in their wardrobes and limited bank accounts. In fact, I would love to see a blog post where you took the same staple piece and reworked it 5 different ways or if you took a staple closet of 20 pieces and about 10 accesories and did a month's worth of work or casual looks. Recycling is totally in! Stay up.
I like your blog a lot, not just for clothes, but also your perspective and personality, as someone else said. Remixing is a good strategy, but I don't think your blog has to just be about what you are wearing. I like to read about wish lists and trend reports too. Plus you have an awesome blogroll to browse. Also you could write a tutorial for how to walk in those tall heels of yours (*so envious*).
I would wear the Weds workwear outfit. I'm glad you didn't do all brown. The teal and gold are just right. I think it is good to try for the unexpected color combinations. You did a past post combining leopard and teal - I tried the same color combo at home and it became one of my favorite outfits.
Good luck with the job search. I hope your persistence will pay off.
ack, posted as wrong thing...can you delete this if possible, I don't think I can....I'll try again with the right sign in LOL
I think a lot of us are looking for inspiration for mixing and matching what we already have, so absolutely as a new reader to your blog I would continue to read to see what outfits you can put together! Most of us can't afford to buy much for new clothes(I've bought more in the past month than I probably bought in the previous 5 years combined for myself!).
I love the skirt and belt, for myself I would change the top and shoes, but only because I'm not a stripes, heels or teal kinda gal LOL....but they look great on you and I love how you throw the splashes of color into your outfits...I'm more plain jane as far as colors go, but I love seeing women who can wear more colors and make it look great!
Those shoes are fantastic! And of course we'd still love you if you were just reworking stuff! Good luck with your job search. I am sure you will find something amazing soon! www.curvycanadian.blogspot.com
Firstly, I love the outfit!! Very Sexy Secretary! And I tot ally get the "need" to show "new" on your blog, but I always love seeing how people re-invent the items already in their closet. You could always do one post a week, or so, of something "new" and then show some re-worked or re-mixed outfits the rest of the week. Either way, I'll always be a reader! Also I swear I was following your blog via google, but apparently not. I have fixed this!
I get the most inspiration from outfits that borrow pieces from other looks. Teaches us all how to mix and match a bit. BTW...love the teal shoes with the brown.
